This time last year I went to so many gigs: 30 seconds to mars, pendulum, enter skikari, bmth, biffy clyro, muse and you me at six
and this year I've got none, how depressing
Definitely b*ying a Reading Fest ticket for next summer though :) apparently it's their 30th year anniversary which should hopefully mean there'll be some big bands playing

Re: Music Concerts/Gigs
An evening of dad rock at the O2 Arena tonight, a venue with sterile atmosphere and uncomfortable seats.. and expensive beer!
First on, Cheap Trick who announce themselves as the greatest rock'n'roll band in the world. I don't think so! Agreeable tunes, middle of the road stuff that hardly gets the foot tapping. 'I Want You to Want Me' is alright I guess.
Then Deep Purple, with an orchestra. Poor Ian Gillan, amazing voice as a young man but struggles to hit those high notes with any power these days. I'm not sure the orchestral arrangements worked that well, when Kiss did their symphony few years back, it was much better. Maybe I just couldn't hear it that well. And there were too many solos, if they cut out all the noodling they could have played a few more songs, like Speed King, Fireball, or Burn, all of which were missed out. And man, they needed Richie Blackmore up there! As a nostalgia trip, on a free ticket, it was okay, but really I'd like to go back in time and see this band 40 years ago, in their prime!

I went to see Kasabian in Liverpool last night. They were amazing!
They've got a brilliant light/visuals show this time too. Only problem was they blew the fuses for the lighting rigs etc about half way through the show and the stage was plunged into darkness apart from two spotlights from the back of the arena. It took a few moments for the crowd to realise that it wasn't part of the show. As the stage crew were running around trying to fix things, Tom Meighan asked everyone to put their phone lights/lighters on and they continued to play the next few songs with the arena lit by thousands of twinkly lights. The atmosphere was amazing.
They played a good mix of songs too, obviously lots from their new album Velociraptor, but also a lot of favourites which had the audience
bouncing. Suprised I've got a voice this morning, I was singing that much.
Only critiscism of the night- the price of the merchandise. C'mon, £25 for a tee-shirt, the tickets were only £30!
