Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Shrek was awful... Spamalot was enjoyable and Singin' in the Rain is fantastic, though the cheaper day seats will have you drenched
Let it Be is just a tribute act, not a musical, and has come up with SFF before which might happen again. Out of those l think Salad Days has best value for money, hard to beat £12 for top price.

Got tickets for Salad Days next week, sooo glad it's good. I get the feeling that it's really underrated, given how reasonably priced the tickets are...

I think many people might just not know about it? I had not heard of Riverside Studios myself before seeing the show there. Will keep more of an eye on it now though :)

That's true and I guess it's probably less convenient because of it being outside of the west end too!

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I like Riverside Studios, but it's a pain to get to. I'm a West End, not West London girl!
I last went there during the Nordic film festival, when the weather was blimmin' freezing - that was an ordeal. Really enjoyed most of the films though, so it was worth it. Never seen a play there - what's the theatre bit like?
I was hoping for more SFF tickets for Let It Be, but sadly there has been nothing. I'm still trying to get around as many West End theatres as possible without p*ying for the privilege! You lot have your "100 free films in XXX" challenge, I have my own one.
Thinking about cashing in some reward points for a pair of theatre tickets - OH has had his eye on Matilda and Book of Morman for a while now and neither show seems likely to give away freebies.

The only offer I was considering was Book of Mormon with The Times which is on 4th July with some sort of Q&A and canapes and drinks to start; much cheaper than the Broadway prices which are crazy at the moment.asamaic wrote:I like Riverside Studios, but it's a pain to get to. Matilda is amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed it when I went last Summer!
I think the Book of Mormon with it being quite new is unlikely to be offering many deals until its been out a while...

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
We saw Matilda last summer for my daughters birthday, it is very good, I'd be surprised to see any free tickets, it was hard enough to get decent seats at a decent price as it was. With the cast of mainly children they were just fantastic, but I can't say I was overly struck on the songs, the beat seemed to be thud, thud, thud!
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!
