Re: Weight Watchers
today
fruit and tea
homemade lentil soup, leave out the cheese topping and bead to mop up, which is what I usually do
.....curry and rice - I found a portion of curry in the freezer yesterday, hence the fruit breakfast and no cheese in my soup

Re: Weight Watchers
Actually moggers, veggies cover all the nutrients fruits but without the sugar content, so no need to increase you fruit intake if you already eat a lot of veggies. You got it just right there! I cant fault your menu there, great stuffmoggers wrote:That is dedication Mr G!! Full of the cold so of course wanting to eat lol. My main area for improvement is fruit, could eat veggies until they come out my ears but fruit not so much. Making homemade chilli for tonight so 3 whole peppers and onion in that and then kidney beans. The weight watchers pitta are ok.
Porridge made with water, cooled by 50ml semi skimmed milk and a dash of honey is my go to breakfast now. Lunch will be ryvita and something, probably chicken.
Yum menus Diane. Good to hear veggies mentioned :)Diane65 wrote:Menu of the day:
Porridge http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/ ... =282317874 It is on offer for £1 at Tesco made with semi skimmed milk. (157 calories)
4 sesame seed ryvita with cottage cheese with chives (200 calories)
Sweet potato in its jacket with ratatouille (350 calories)
Lots of water and a few black coffees. I will add on some more calories as too few this even though a lot of food.
Hope you feel better Moggers with your cold. I don't blame you Baty with choosing nice bread plus I think that most bread has sugar in it as you need it to feed the yeast except for the yeast free bread
MrGlass you are more than welcome to have some homemade sweet and sour chicken and I too am impressed with the running
I played table tennis yesterday with my old school friend. He was made redundant in his banking day job (though he owns a Vietnamese supermarket, so he still got earnings to fall back on) But it means he has some time to kill and credit to him, he wants use the opportunity to get fitter and also take advantage of my "profession" which I have hardly put into earning a living from. Its been twenty years since we both played the sport at sixth form college. I still have the table tennis bats and balls from those days, so I dusted them off and we began to play...2 hours later, it was as if we never left the game, we remembered most of our skills...we were really good back in the day, our movement and reflexes were a lot slower though but that can be improved over time, I'm sure. Needless to say we were both exhausted at the end. And just like the old days, I beat him :) I then taught him how to stretch properly and ordered him to always do the stretches after any cardio workouts.
You know how you feel aches next day after a long walk or workout? Well that means you didnt do your cool down stretches didya?
So hows the exercise schedule, everyone? Keeping up with that?

Re: Weight Watchers
Well done MrG with all that impressive exercise and raising the importance of stretching. Glad you still had your vintage table tennis bats and well done for encouraging your friend. I've still got this stupid headache which is getting on my nerves now
It will be gone by tomorrow I'm sure as I really want to get on with exercising. I have tried the herbal teas but really don't like them - I don't like regular tea though. I have 3 regular coffees a day then it's water all the way plus the occasional diet coke (which I know is rubbish) then the odd decaf coffee if after lunch.

Re: Weight Watchers
Right I've found my GF porridge, OH had 'tidied' the cupboards before he left and it takes me ages to find things.
So, will start my day with a bowl of porridge with a, you guessed it cup of tea
Fruit and water for lunch
Defrosted some chicken fillets so will have jerk chicken with peppers and rice for later, may have another orange for supper.
Just beginning to feel that the exercises are getting me fitter. The new pain killers are making me sleep till 9
but as the alternative is a broken nights' sleep I'll stick with them a while longer. Just have to re- arrange my early morning session!
How's the headache Diane?

Re: Weight Watchers
Got back to the swimming this week - outdoor pool of course!
Not had much exercise only a few short walks but have lost 2lbs this week much of which is the extra weight I put on over Xmas and holiday.
My menus are always pretty much the same as always but I think the homemade soup at lunch time instead of the large lunch I was having whilst on holiday has been the main factor in the weight loss.
Must remember to drink more water and eat more veg.

Lovely menu Baty and as you say if you need the pain relief it is better to have it than not sleep.baty wrote:Right I've found my GF porridge, OH had 'tidied' the cupboards before he left and it takes me ages to find things.

I ended up working until 8pm today - not planned but helping a friend out so the last gentleman made me a special coffee it was a huge mug of hot fresh cream flavoured with coffee along with a chocolate digestive and a jammy dodger but I didn't have the heart to tell someone of nearly a hundred that I don't even have milk in my coffee (my goodness it was rich and I don't even know how I managed to drink it).

Re: Weight Watchers
I did go and weigh today, knew I should leave it for another week but couldn't resist. Unfortunately, not budged from the last time
At least it didn't go up.
I'm not good on coffee Diane, the caffeine makes me shake, I think you did well to drink it with all that cream. I bet the gentleman was chuffed to have you there.
Oh dear, Jamie is turning a shoulder of lamb into a beeeaaauuuttifulll curry, resistance is futile. Will have to make one next week BUT will make it healthy.
As daughters' car failed MOT I had to do my first ever online shop. At least it focused my mind on food next week. Got a chicken I can make a few meals with and avoided anything snackie. Some how my finger slipped onto a bottle of red wine....... will save this until I've been good. Thankfully found a £15 off first shop code.

Re: Weight Watchers
Hi folks, wishing you all luck with your weight loss challenges. I'm happy today because for the last month I've weighed in at 14 s 6 p as I had reduced my gym attendance to every second day. So, this week I decided to step it back up and went 5 out of 7 days but reduced the intensity and as a result I'm now 14 s 4 p - happy happy happy. I also ate when I wanted, fairly healthily but didn't think about portion size and it worked - yippee.
As far as my fitness training is going. I ran my 1st 10k on Tuesday - it was on the treadmill at 0% incline at 8.5 kmh and completed it in 71 mins - thats the furthest I've ever ran in my puff. So, as I enjoy an easy life last night I signed up for the Resolution 10k Run in Edinburgh on March 2nd - if I can do it in 80 mins or less I'll be delighted but I'll have to see how it goes - saying that finishing would also be a bonus :) :)

Well done that is just brilliant not only the weight loss but the mega quick run - you must have some serious stamina doing it at an inclinestone_monkey wrote:Hi folks, wishing you all luck with your weight loss challenges.
