I've not even heard of Ben & Holly - presumably that's a children's show? And the venue must be what used to be Top Rank in my day - who remembers Top Rank?!

My Son, who does Drama in School, saw 'Kiss Me Kate' last week and really enjoyed it, especially because he recognised (I think) a dancer off the tele, as well as a character who used to be in 'Tracy Beaker' on tv! Today, both Sons have gone to see 'Journey's End' with their History class.

I don't remember Top Rank, but I have a feeling that may have been where there is now a night club at the top of the town opposite the pond?Ms Thrifty wrote:I've not even heard of Ben & Holly - presumably that's a children's show? Colosseum is at the bottom of Rickmansworth road between Cassiobury Park and the roundabout, it was refurbished and expanded a year or so ago and attracting better acts since.
Yes, Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom is based on a childrens programme my niece loves it.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

Adam Garcia is in it, he's likely the dancer of the telly he's referred to? Glad to hear this positive comment, am keen to catch the show before it closes in a few weeks time!jojojoanne wrote:My Son, who does Drama in School, saw 'Kiss Me Kate' last week and really enjoyed it, especially because he recognised (I think) a dancer off the tele, as well as a character who used to be in 'Tracy Beaker' on tv! The Son who only went to see 'Journey's End' has just come home and said it was brilliant!

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I saw The Tailor-Made Man at the Arts Theatre (West End) last night, which is a musical based on the lives of silent screen star William Haines and his life long partner Jimmy Shields.
Despite it being only the third performance I thought this show was fantastic. The story itself is beautiful (and because it's based on real people I somehow connected to it more than I usually do), there are some wonderful songs in it and overal I thought the performances were very good. They're not 100% yet, there was some fluffing up of lines and staging but I think those will be ironed out before the show officially opens next week.
I highly recommend it, tickets are not expensive considering it's in the West End (next to Leicester Square station) and there there are some good deals to be found online too. More info: http://www.artstheatrewestend.co.uk/whatson

We saw this yesterday evening and really enjoyed it, very clever and entertaining.Rainey wrote:Took the family to Siro A last night, all really enjoyed it, the music wasn't half as bad or loud as I expected & appreciated the way one of the performers came out & mingled with the audience & posed for photo's in his costume before the show.
Only downside is that the seating is not tiered or the stage raised a bit more as we struggled to see some of what was happening at the bottom of the stage, not a major problem & didn't really detract from the show.
I hope ticket sales pick up, its a great show, just seems nobody knows about.
Only about 35-40% full which is a shame and also only an hour long which was disappointing.
