Yes, but I think the setting is probably more attractive, in the middle of the vineyard and surrounded by the North Downs. It would be great for a special occasion; I just wish I could justify it, but it's too near for us.

Talking about vineyards, I came back from the trip I won to Champagne last week. It was very nice to have the trip all pa*d for. The only thing thats slightly disappointing is it's not as pretty as one would expect. Maybe all the pretty vineyards are in the Bordeaux area rather than Champagne.

This one is definitely pretty, and the largest in England, though that may not be saying much. I have been to the Champagne ones (on a pa*d tour, though - a free one would have been nice!) and others in France and Germany but prefer the UK way of promoting them. I know we are upstarts compared to European vineyards, but all you seem to be able to do there is have a tasting and go round the cellars, which are, of necessity, gloomy and too cold for comfort. Here, most vineyards have a shop, cafe, restaurant and special events. Of course, that may be because they don't think they will make enough money from selling the actual produce...!

A vineyard has to have a cold, dark cellar! The English have a shop everywhere! Bloomin' annoying.

I did say "of necessity"! And haven't you heard of the English being "a nation of shopkeepers"? I don't even like shopping, but someone has to keep the economy afloat and I believe in doing my bit.

well when i was listening i recognised about 7 on there! i suprised my self.... thankfully i was a silly teenager when they came out so i have an excuse lol
