Thanks ejwrank and I don't think I've had a fondue for over 20 years so I'll be looking forward to that especially followed by a Tobleroneejwrank wrote:Happy Swiss hols, Diane. Fondue followed by Preston's Toblerone should keep you going!

Re: Weight Watchers
Hope you're having a great time on your travels, Diane65! I must say, I'm very jealous of all these fantastic holidays you keep having.
Have you worked out the WW system yet, weliveandbreathewords? It's not for me, but I have friends who have lost a lot (and kept it off) by following the plan.
Swings and roundabouts, eh, Preston1990? Never mind, it could have been worse and next time you see a giant cake, you'll know better. (Maybe?)
I have now been to the gym 4 times this month.
Weight loss is going well, although I'm not convinced the gym is helping with it. It is however helping me feel a lot fitter, and I know it's good for me, so I'm persevering.
Off for dinner now, will try to be good, but if not, extra gym next week.

Re: Weight Watchers
Well what can I say but the food is divine tried barley soup with dried meat followed by a fondue (as recommended by ejwrank) followed by apple strudel plus found myself in a patisserie in France today as I know that ejwrank would be offended if I didn't sample the cakes there plus a delicious violet ice-cream which was water based rather than milk.
I will be good when I return and thanks for the good wishes. Asamaic I get really good deals the return flight was £60
plus all public transport in Geneva is free for tourists.

Re: Weight Watchers
It's all gone very quiet here. I hope everyone is still behaving!
I'm thinking about p*ying to join my gym (when my free trial runs out). I never thought that I'd even contemplate such a thing... When you think about it, I haven't had any takeaways in weeks, so I can probably justify a gym membership instead.

I'm behaving badly
I have been a bit stupid with the hours I work (why would anybody with half a brain would decide to work 8 until 8 the day they get back from their holidays especially when they were still at the airport at midnight knowing that they were having to go to Manchester train station at midnight to pick up DD the following day
Thursday was just typical worked 8 until 4.30pm with no lunch break then met a friend for coffee and cakes, then went to see a private patient, then went to the theatre to Watch Annie Get your Gun then went to visit my mother hence got in at midnight .
Sole objectives for today are catching up on housework plus putting up my cuckoo clock (I have wanted one all my life since winning the book Heidi for being the most well behaved at Sunday School

Re: Weight Watchers
By chance, I've lost a pound this week but I haven't really been being very good. No exercise done at all, no serious dieting to speak of, although I did have a couple of veggie stir fries and salads last week.
Doctor told me on Thursday that my blood pressure is way too high and that I'm far too overweight as well. My BP has been checked three times in two weeks in case first and second readings were blips - needless to say they weren't. 2 years ago my BP was measured at 120/65 - which was good. The doc has told me its much much higher than that at the moment and to get it down to at least 130/75 and to lose 2 stones in weight before the end of August.
Given my underlying heart problems, we've agreed a three month timescale to make some serious inroads into both, otherwise I'll be started on more medication - which I'm resisting. She has recommended that I b*y my own blood pressure monitor and pointed me to Boots with a list of some suitable ones. I know my problem largely stems from lack of exercise these days combined with overeating.
Anyways......
.......
At John Lewis today for celebratory cake
and hot drink. ....I know...but my eldest has just passed the theory part of her driving test.
In the absence of any half decent looking cakes, I chose millionaires shortbread and had a large luxury hot chocolate to perfectly complement it. There was so much squirty cream and marshmallows on it I could have got shaved in it.
My "follow on" John Lewis vouchers were waiting for me in the post when I got home. Only three months worth though this time - I wonder if that will be it.
.......Really?
.....What were the rest of the class like?
Be good everyone - My exercise regime and sensible eating starts on Tuesday coming - Need to focus and make this happen.

Well done to your daughter
Sorry to hear that your lifestyle is affecting your health which is a completely different ball game so I will support you all the way. Asamaic is doing brilliantly along with stone_monkey but as the for the rest of us we all seem a little quiet which is unusual for us chatty people so silence speaks volumes.
So Tuesday it is the start for all of us and I really have got to get a grip as I am getting bigger by the day

I believe you did mention that back in July 2012, Diane
