It's my birthday today and in anticipation of over doing things this evening, I've put in a descending sprints session this morning (400m, 300m, 200m, 100m) and this afternoon, I'll do a wee workout on the heavybag.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

I'm normally very good, but yesterday I went to review the soft launch of a new Byron.

Starters, mains, sides, desserts - well, they were all comped, so it would have been rude not to. Figured this doesn't happen very often, so why not! o/

Hope you're having a great night, John Milton. Birthdays come but once a year, the diet starts the day after!

I've finally hit goal. o/

Very pleased because today is coincidentally the day the company photographer is back and I get to have that ghastly shot he did of me last time retaken. o/

Body confidence... Unlocked! o/

Excellent news you must feel on top of the world.

I really need to get into gear - I'm in Milan done loads of walking today and had a huge salad for dinner so there is hope.

How is/was Milano? o/

When the guy you're out with stops for a kebab on the way home and you stop to b*y a veggie salad instead, you know you're committed to this healthy lifestyle shebang. o/ I've persuaded some of my colleagues to do another 5k in September, so I guess I should train for that at some point.

Hope everyone else is being good! When you don't post, I get suspicious you're all scoffing cake together. :p

It was wonderful thanks did plenty of walking including climbing to the top of the Duomo in 40 degrees and as it was so hot I really did have salads every evening but did succumb to the wonderful gelato. I did feel too heavy when I was away so have carried on with the healthy eating regime (my rumbling stomach has just woken me up - I never wake up in the night so this is bad) plus been walking every evening after work.

You are certainly in the zone not giving into the kebab. Well done.

I've been considering joining WW to lose about 15-25 pounds but the program is a tad too costly for me :(

I don't think that an of us are on the Weight Watchers programme. We have hi jacked this thread from BettyBoop who was on it. We just do what we find works for us (I have been rubbish this last 6 months hence put a lot back on).
I'm now back on track being working out and lots of walking- I need to lose 20lbs so we can do it together.

On the cost cutting theme I have been picking blackberries this week plus been given some cooking apples and broadbeans from my friend's garden plus from my trug my rocket and basil is starting to grow - first edible thing I have ever grown (its only tiny shoots as yet but I'm hoping).

Well, I've lost 33 lb without signing up for WW or any other expensive diet plan. I know WW works for some people, but you don't need to go down that road if you don't want to/can't afford to.

Losing weight is as simple as you need to eat fewer calories than you burn. First, you need to work out your calorie target, then you need to eat within it. If you burn off extra calories through exercise, you can eat those back.

Calories in < calories out. Honestly, it is that simple. You don't have to 'eat clean' if you don't want to, you just have to not overdo the calories.

There are lots of good calorie tracking apps out there - I personally use (and recommend to everyone) MyFitnessPal. If you don't have a smartphone, you can use the website instead. All free.

My doctor made me stand on the scales twice the other day because he didn't believe how much weight I had lost. (Bloody charming! Doesn't the man have eyes?)

Hope that helps. o/
