Does anyone have the timings, or those who went last year know how it worked for the Xmas lights switch on.

It says the event starts at 17.00 with lights switched on at 18.15, but the gates are open 17.00 - 17.45. When do the performances happen?

According to oxford street website this was last years timing
17.00hrs Stage show starts
18.15hrs Christmas Light official switch on
18.30hrs event finishes
20.00hrs roads re-open to traffic

I think this was about right as I left work early to get there about 5

Last year robbie Williams sang 3 songs I think , Lawson 2 can't remember who other singer was , and one of the theatre company's appears too so 1and half hours about right

Ok then. That explains why I forgot her. As I find her boring.
Lmao

Similar to why I don't want to see James Arthur there this year. I can't stand his voice
I'll put my iPod on while he performs ;)

We had a great time at the Christmas lights tonight, 3 great performances, kids absolutely loved it.

I have to say though the organisation was shockingly bad! We were told to queue down the side of Selfridges, there were no barriers to lead the queue or marshals, time was ticking and the queue had stopped moving, went to investigate and basically the crowed without tickets had swamped the entrance and all the security had was an loudspeaker to tell them to move back...they may as well had been whispering, had to get my daughter on my back as I didn't want her squashed and my son and his friend to hold on to my coat as we weaved our way through the crush to the entrance! Once we got inside found a good spot directly in front of the stage so we had a great view.

Thanks again for the help I had with tickets.

We also had a great time, me, ritamistry, mandmc10 and my friend.

All those people had been told to go down by stupid Capital Radio, and they were not told they had to have tickets. We were right at the front by the barriers queuing and most of the people in front of us did not have tickets but they were complaining they were not told they needed tickets. As we had some spares, we took a family in with us, who had come down early, as told by the radio station.

Everyone was getting crush, as they had to let three trucks come through carrying the barriers, and everyone was actually standing/queuing in the middle of the road, and no one could move to stand on the pavement. It was total mayhem. But once inside the Golden Circle, it was lovely. We stood at the back next to the photographers, and there were plenty of room to move around, and we had a great view too.

Here's a few snaps! ;)

He were down the side of Selfridges too. Winitnow was able to put my friend and I on her ticket, and she was right near the front of what was meant to be the queue.

My friend and I chose to stand in the middle of the crowd, where we could see really. I've been wanting to see Jessie J live for ages, so glad I was able to make it down! She was great!

Conor Maynard gave a unique performance...he didn't lipsync, as his mic was on and he was singing the whole time, but for about half of his set they were piping in the vocal track anyway! How weird!

Really enjoyed James Arthur too. Said to my friend I was a bit surprised he won X Factor as he isn't their normal type. Enjoyed it all the same.

Really happy it wasn't that cold or rainy too. Could have been miserable but it was really enjoyable! Big thanks again to winitnow for allowing my friend and I to come on her ticket!
