I thoroughly enjoyed this in an Inceptionesque kind of way. Had me hooked (so-to-speak) all the way through. I was surprised at how quickly it ended though. I thought there could have been another 20 minutes or so in it. Was barely over 1.5 hours. It was still morning when it finished! I think I might have felt a little short-changed if I had p**d to see it.

And saw no Yinsters, Bigginses, Alythonians or marjorees. :-(

Oops! Biggins was there! I beg her pardon! Lol. Half full though? I struggled to find a seat when I arrived. Looked more like 70-80% to me. Mind you, you like the back and probably had a better view. Lol.

Saw it this morning at a pretty packed out Kingston Odeon. I loved it. I thought the music was brilliant and the overall look and feel, it was brilliantly acted by everyone in it and the storyline was pretty good too. considering i was half asleep when i got there it really kept my attention all of the way through.

@ stuartboy and @tilly, I'm glad I'm not the only person who saw the similarity with Inception! I thought I was going to get gunned down for that comment. :D

PS - I would give anything to have a NTZ. :D And that's no joke!

I saw it at Kingston too this AM. Really enjoyed it and preferred it to Inception in many respects - I could keep up with it!!

Plenty of seats up the back and dotted around. MM and I were sitting together 4 rows from the back and there was only one other couple further along our row. Busier down the front where Aylthonian and her OH were sitting.

Come in earlier next time we are all going to be there and then you will have a better chance of spotting us - I am always in very early and keeping seats for the others and we always sit about four rows from the back from the end seat inwards. Then you will not be on your own and have time to chat before the film starts.

Saw this at the Odeon Kingston earlier and I'll try and not let my review be affected by the idiotic woman in the row behind me who talked the whole way through.

Thought this was a perfectly watchable thriller. It was all very flashily directed. Which was a little distracting but at least Neil Burger had the excuse of the drug effects to justify it but it still smacked a little of showing off at times.

My main problem and why I can't rate this as highly as others was the numerous plot holes and contrivances that littered the movie. It raised more questions than it could answer. The main character seemed to get out of the various problems he encountered (mostly involving dead bodies) way too easily, especially at the end. Not even the idea that he was smart enough to deal with them made any sense.
It also seemed pretty confused as to what it was about. For the majority of it's running time it looked like a cautionary tale about drug use and the dangers of taking short-cuts to get what you wish for before changing it's mind at the last minute and wrapping things up in a neat and tidy happy ending that I found unconvincing.
I think somebody whose selfishness and arrogance led to several people's lives being put in danger and in some cases getting killed (apparently models aren't important enough to matter) should have faced the consequences of his decision to take a short-cut to success. That he ends up smugly sitting pretty at the movie's end felt false.
Bradley Cooper was good in the main role and Robert De Niro was okay in a role that didn't really rely on him being on anything other than auto-pilot. Abbie Cornish was a little wasted and Anna Friel had a tiny role before disappearing from the movie altogether. Although I liked the bad guy who also takes the pill and discovers a love of words.

As I said it was watchable and entertaining and I didn't feel like I'd wasted my time. But I also feel that the film uses a lot of flashy direction to paper over the cracks in a flawed script that isn't half as smart as it thinks it is.

Cardiff Odeon about 80% full. Arrived a bit late but the film hadn't started so went to hunt for a seat - had a Norman Wisdom episode as my bootlace had got undone and I kept standing on it as I tried to get passed the people who had stood up to let us get to a couple of seats.
After seeing the Hall Pass and being disappointed this week this film was well worth the drive to Cardiff. Liked the 'trippy' cinematography, soundtrack and the acting. The plot mmmmmm
why did the others become wrecks and not him?
but is was pacey and much better than I thought it would be.

Please can my students have have just one lick???
