Thank you Andrews, we only need the first 4 to be honest for the printers. We got a grant for publicity that will cover the posters and flyers, large banner etc, the rest are a skeleton/guideline to work from...but still really important and it gives us confidence in where we are heading ( well for me).
Then December (when we have asked our audience what they would like to see in coming months from list of say 3, one of which is from the skeleton list ) the Silver Screen will be ready to lauch and we apply for another grant to re-advertise the whole thing again with both screeings until May.
In May we start another list and we then start claiming from the Screen Yorkshire and The Film Council grant to update the equipment. They said they would publicise the launch with all the other updated film clubs drawing from the same grant in Yorkshire...TV, radio, flyers etc.
Hope that made sense...![]()
The main screenings would be the third monday in the month starting in September (19th) with the Silver Screen launching on the third Thursday of the month starting from January(21st ). So they would just be a couple of days apart.
Finalising the list in the morning with Pete and then meeting spanner in the afternoon![]()
no love her really

I once went hiking with M. C. Escher. It was uphill all the way there and uphill all the way back.

To think it all started with ' wouldn't it be great to have somewhere to see films locally?' before it grew like Topsy! Decision day today!

Re: Selby Community Cinema - Help Wanted
Yah!! fims are sorted...what a relief
Now its Website and flyers. If you would like to see the website as it develops its http://www.selbyglobe.co.uk
Plan A (sorry Pete we got to about H last time i said that
) For each film the slides and back ground change, so at the moment its Mamma Mia sing-a-long
Film selected for September to January will be listed with a synopsis for each and maybe a little more like awards etc but keeping it quite tight.
Any thoughts yet??

Re: Selby Community Cinema - Help Wanted
I was just on the BFI website looking at information on their upcoming "king coal" season of films surronding the subject of coalmining.
http://www.bfi.org.uk/about/news/2009-07-02-coal.html
at the bottom of the page it says this
A touring programme will be available for booking by cinemas, film societies, community groups and working men's clubs in former mining areas. Details available soon at the ICO website
Am I right in thinking that Selby used to be a big coalmining community? - If so, this might be of interest.
