I enjoyed the film. Lots of fun gags for both kids and adults. Although admittedly in terms of big laughs it's all about 'Oooh Cat' and rightly so. A gag they thankfully only used three times and didn't overdo. Still there were plenty of other laughs to keep things ticking along nicely.
The moment where the villagers hail Humpty Dumpty as their saviour with cries of 'huevos, huevos' was particularly amusing
I think the set-up is perhaps more enjoyable than the final act which meanders a bit. The story also isn't particularly memorable, just an excuse to get these characters together, though it was nice to see they wisely kept Shrek references at bay allowing the Puss in Boots character to carry this movie on his own. My other gripe is that the Nursery Rhyme characters never really fit in to the desert setting and it never quite worked in that respect. In Shrek, these types of fairytale characters made sense in enchanted forests and castle settings but seemed oddly out of place here.
Some of the 3D was effective, especially when swooping across the landscapes. Occasionally non-existent in some scenes but impressive when it does work.
Overall it was very enjoyable and well-animated. Not a classic by any means but a definite improvement on the last couple of Shrek sequels.
I also watched this at Uxbridge Odeon, was very noisey in there today, but even the little ones were laughing lots and seemed to enjoy it. I always worry about family films there as it is never very organised and the screens are all quite small. As usual we queued outside only for people to rush past us and push the kids all over the place to get to the screen first. Still we all got in and sat together and there screen wasn't completely full today.
We all did enjoy the film very much, didn't really get the whole reason they chose the Humpty Dumpty character until the end, he did seem a little out of place, but overall a very enjoyable family film with enough laughs aimed at adults to keep all amused.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

Huh? You were at least 15 minutes early!

Valda's friend never made it in, maybe they didn't let her in anymore?
She did get in but slipped into a seat at the front so not to disturb anyone.
I loved this film, I'm sure I was laughing too loudly in parts, and cooing over the cat. As much as Eddie Murphy is donkey and I couldn't imagine anyone else doing it, Antonio Banderous is Puss. As usual unnecessary 3D but parts of it were good. After Donkey Puss is my fav character (cant stand Shrek and Fiona) and I think this film is back up nearly to Shrek 1 standards.
8/10

Loved it! I thought it was a great film. I thought it was quite funny how they had incorporated all the characters with twists. I think this is one of the first times, where i've actually noticed the 3D and enjoyed it too. But i think Softpaws stole it for me, her character had everything!
After the movie, I went to the Sky interview, and had to wait quite a while for it, even though it was only a minute or two. But it was great to meet Pxc, Beate & OH.
8/10 from me.

I really loved this! I loughed out loud on more than one occassion because I thought it was so funny. Not consistently so, but some things were really hilarious (Humty Dumpty's skintight squeaky suit for one).
I am actually not a fan of the original Shrek movies and because of that feared that I may not like this much either (despite having a weak spot for Puss in Boots's adorable face) and as such was pleasantly surprised by how much I found myself enjoying it. Kitten!Puss actually made me go "awwwww" out loud. Too cute!
The 3D was largely pointless once more though, I thought it worked much better with the krill in Happy Feet 2.

stuartboy wrote:Disasters! Edinburgh overbooked and full up. Turned away along with several others. Much love to SKY girl who offered Odeon vouchers as compensation. Less so to Odeon operative who was overheard telling her to try and not offer tickets in the hope that people just walk away. Also he made them non-3D vouchers so won't be able to see Poose-in-Boots later. At least I wasn't latest either, A!
The guy with the ponytail came in and asked everyone to move up so they could get more people seated. Marjoreemarjora said she heard them say there was only room for 10 more and others were still waiting in the queue. Thought it should have been in a bigger screening room as it was full very early on.
The moral of the story stuartboy is to be earlier!!! Then you would get in AND get a seat that isn't in the front row that you hate.
Pleased you got vouchers though for another film.
We enjoyed the film and thought the 3D was good in some parts. Not a hilarious film but some very funny moments and the kids seemed to be enjoying it. 8/10

Also missed out in Edinburgh at 10.25 it was full.
I was surprised as never been to a Sky screening that was full before. Normally tickets match bums on seats, so I have a sneaky feeling they let in folk with umpteen kids extra as they suspected there would be spares, as there are normally a few.
Fair enough, managed to get on with lots else instead and got a free ticket to go and see something else instead at time of my choosing.
Sky lady and Odeon guy were very helpful and pleasant.

Yup we were queuing outside at 5 to 10 to get in and more and more folks kept coming in!!
Biggest shock for me was the price of pop corn!!! Not usually something I would b*y but had child with me could not believe the cost.
thought the 3d effect great in places and of course love Antonio Banderas, put me in the mood to watch Zorro yet again.
Good 8/10 from me.
