Think I am gonna see it again on Monday and expect my rating to increase now that I have been "let in on the joke".
(Also I had to endure sitting in the VERY front row which at Vue Edinburgh is within touching distance of the screen, so everything was distorted and difficult to see. Not my fault for being late I hasten to add - it usually is!)
Ok, stuartboy, . . . . . which cinema's front row will you be sitting in on Monday????
I saw this in Glasgow Cineworld which was probably about 80% full. What a lot of fun packed into one film . . . . though I could also say, what a lot of bad language in one film . . . in many ways it did feel as though they were trying too hard to include as much crude language as possible. It certainly wasn't required and the story would have lost nothing if it had been toned down. I thought the final car chase was one of the best/ most original I'd seen! I think there were definite hints of a second movie to follow!
I don't know if I'll go again on Monday but I do have the choice which is good. Good movie to lift your spirits!
I was a bit shocked at the shootings towards the end. I think I was happily viewing the film as fun . . . and then . . . blood & dead people!

Just went to see this today, courtesy of a pair of Sky movie preview tickets received from a fellow member who couldn't attend. First time to O2 Cineworld Sky's movie screening lounge, brilliant large screen. Unlike some other venues - went to see This Means War in an Odeon near Leicester Square, cinema wouldn't fit more than 80, and it was heaving.
Knew this was based on an 80's series, but can't remember whether it ever had a funny slant to it. Miami Vice, which was also based on an 80's series, probably kept the theme true to the original series.
Anyway, the show was rather entertaining, albeit a little overly vulgar at times (hence the 15 rated). Ice-T's character's quite funny - espcially the bit about (mini-spoiler alert!!!) defecating in one's snorkel when affixed to one's face. Funny, yet so wrong. So was the Koren Jesus reference.
Score-wise, a good 75%. Glad I got 'em tickets.

I didn't like this. I thought it was funny in places, particularly with the cameo at the end, but wasn't substantial enough as a film for the positives to outweigh the negatives. I can't say I'm really a fan of comedies, but it was the severed ***** that really annoyed me towards the end. I would write more but I don't want to.
4/10

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2011" club. I saw 20, interestingly enough. My more realistic target was to see more free films than TheyCallMeMrGlass. I lost.

OH and I really enjoyed this. Like KK I also wondered why Eric seemed so familiar, James Franco's little bro! Tempted to catch it again next week.

They have the same weird way to speak. What's this accent, seriously?
I loved when they did their "Acting With James Franco" videos

Enjoyed this! Like Cellini, I too was a fan of the original TV show as well as the Richard Grieco spin-off 'Booker'. Living in South Africa we were exposed to LOADS of wonderful US television during the 80s and 90s. Unrelated comment; we had a quiz at the office the other day in which we were asked to name the dog from 'The Artist' and its breed. I had no trouble in naming Uggie, but when it came to identifying the breed I struggled, and in frantic desperation told my fellow team-mates "it's like the dog from Frasier" to which they all simultaneously responded "What's Frasier?"
I couldn't believe it! Was Frasier and Cheers not shown in the UK?
Anyway, back to the movie. Was chuffed to see
Holly Robinson, Peter Deluise and the Deppster in their little cameos. Almost felt as if they'd given the movie their own personal endorsement even though it basically shat all over the original.
I have to say this though. Channing Tatum needs to give up his career as an action/dance/rom-drama star and focus exclusively on comedy. I never thought I'd say this but he was absolutely fantastic in this alongside Jonah Hill. Their chemistry is what ultimately made it work. I never quite managed to break out into fully fledged laughter but I definitely had a smile on my face throughout, even during the cringeworthy Peter Pan bits.

No, I, too, knew nothing of this until I read it here!

This film had spurts of humour (very few) that actually made me laugh, but most of the comedy was lame. They tried too hard to be funny and it didn't p*y off. I won't be watching this again.
