Awful, awful film. Painfully written, wonky acting, shoddy direction, especially in acting scenes, and what was Charlize up to?

I wonder which film has the worst script between MIB3 and SWATH?

I have heard rumours about an embargo but since I was never officially told anything and since I am not press, no embargo for me! :D

I liked this for the most part. It is far too long, and does drag during the first half of the film but I suppose a grand, epic fantasy story has to have a 2 hour running time (regardless of whether it is warranted).

The costumes and sets were amazing, I loved the gothic theme throughout. I thought Theron and Hemsworth were good, and Stewart was competent, but still had her annoying tendency to blink repeatedly in an attempt to display emotion. The dwarves were definitely the highlight of the film and shame we didn't see more of them.

I'm surprised a first time director was given such a huge project with a large budget, but the end result isn't all bad. It's definitely better than the other Snow White film released earlier in the year, Mirror Mirror.

7/10.

Well, I for one really REALLY loved this film! I dislike Kristen Stewart (based on the one Twilight film I endured and some interviews I've seen from her) but thankfully she's not quite as annoying in this film as I had expected her to be. For being the "lead" character she has a lot less lines and scenes than one would think which is probably for the better.

Loved Chris Hemsworth and sexy prince William :shifty: I also really loved the dwarfs (despite missing the majority of their first scene as I was laughing too much over how ridiculous they looked) and would've liked to see more of them.

However, what I loved most about SWATH was the absolutely stunning designs. Both the forest of the dead and the (enchanted?) lush green forest looked amazing and so imaginative. And just wow. I'd happily watch a documentary set in either place (though prefer the green one) to see more about it and the creatures living there.

For an epic fantasy film, the end battle is rather short, which is a good thing. I dislike the Battle of Helms Deep in the LotR and feared the last half of this film would be very much like that, but it wasn't. While SWATH felt slightly too long in the middle, its conclusion does wrap itself up rather quickly.

9/10

I really liked the design of the "red" carpet too. A black carpet and the forest of the dead for us plebs going into the Odeon and a green carpet with a gorgeous enchanted forest for the "stars" at the Empire.

Afterwards we unsuccessfully went hunting for glossy tickets people may have dropped around their seats, but despite seeing people having various different designs in their hands upon entering the cinema we were only able to find Kristen ones. I really wanted a ticket with Chris on it :(

The dress code is 'White as snow. Red as blood. Black as night. :D
I was wearing black and white, which was obviously premeditated :shifty:

prettyxcool wrote:So the red carpet affair was definitely all on the Empire side, those with tickets to the Odeon, were not given a look in really. We loitered around on the Odeon side with a load of others, the security did not even bother to move us on, until it was almost time to be seated, as they obviously knew the stars were in no way coming over! Abysmal.
The Odeon people had to be seated 30 mins before the Empire people (doors opened earlier for Odeon too) yet we still had to wait 45 mins for it to start. What I assumed had happened is that they wanted to clear the red (well, black) carpet on the Odeon side by 6.45 so the stars could go there to be interviewed by the online people/bloggers waiting there. Some of the fans on that side did actually get autographs/photos as I saw them sign at a spot we'd been standing before, but since they lingered so long on the Empire side it was obviously more fleeting.

I'm glad I made that clear enough, it's a public service announcement.

I really enjoyed the film. didn't think Stewart was amazing, though i have it on good authority her bf told her otherwise last night! he's a good bf then!

I LOVED Charlize in this. I wanted to be the wicked witch! I loved the way the mirror worked... 1000 times better than in mirror mirror... what a pile of crap that was.

I can't wait to go and see this again. A 2nd viewing will really tell me how I feel. I was a bit excited last night to be fair!

So far a 7.5/10 for me

It used to be very fashionable amongst serious clubbers in the 90's. Wear a lovely ankle length dress with trainers. Addidas Campus were the trainers to wear o/

I concur with everything that C_T said. It entertained me, so Charlize was chewing the scenery, that's what I wanted. Yeah the script was bad but I got over it quickly as the design of the film was fantastic. the only thing that was bad, was The Huntsman's accent. Totally pointless

8/10
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

I forgot to mention that - what was all that about then, I too thought, was it necessary? ;)
