Re: The Croods
As I crossed the Square at 9am, I could see the queue into the Empire was enormous. I joined the end and once I got in five minutes later, it was absolutely packed, with hardly any room to move! I grabbed some breakfast, and went and reserved some seats for my party, where there were popcorn and fruit drinks.
When I went back into the foyer to check out the "stars", I saw c-t and friends having breakfast, bumped into Rainey and her kids, then Gaby Roslin (TV and Radio presenter) came in, so got a shot with her, then I saw funthing arriving, ethanrunt laden with a Pret drink and food (and I had to break the good news that breakfast was provided!
), then my party arrived so went to our "reserved seats", and there was Rainey again, she had bagged their seats right behind me and ritamistry. There was so much cake, they were bringing them into the screening room on a tray trying to offload them (note for next time, bring a tupperware box!)
As we chatted, jeanelle came in, and a_person came in, not pleased because she got here so early because of her bus, heehee, then celini. Then it was time to go and get my green screen photo and a photo with Belt, before the film started.
I loved everything about this, the characters, the visuals, the 3D, the story (although cliched), the funny animals. It's got adventure, comedy and heart. A feel good film. 8.5/10

Re: The Croods
Thanks to the generosity of a_person we got to see this at the Empire and it was a real treat! So much breakfast and then excellent seats in a lovely cinema.
The animation was completely brilliant with a gorgeous array of hybrid animals, not the best story but lots of funny scenes and imaginative ideas which made a very enjoyable film overall and worth the early start!

Saw this at Enfield this morning. Saw the odd man telling people to turn off their phones and he was also standing at the back with binoculars once the film started
The film was cute but I expected more laughs and action. Just ok.

Re: The Croods
Well it was a farce at Glasgow this morning. Apparently there were two screenings - one for The Sun and another for Evening Times which was guest listed. Arrived at 09:45 outside where there were about a handful of other people waiting to get in. They opened up 5 minutes later and once I found out the screen we headed up. Got to the screen 8 and sat down, got comfortable. Then about 10 minutes later (around 10:00) when another 6 or so families had sat down we were told to moved to another screen. So got our stuff and went to the second screen which luckily was screen 10 ( two doors along). Sat down and screen filled up pretty quickly. By 10:20 it was almost filled and groups were now sitting wherever they could, single or otherwise. Ever so often we heard stories of people getting angry outside cos they couldn't get in. At 10:30 we were told they were now putting people in the first screen so we were told they wanted to sit everyone before starting the film. Just after 10:50 another announcement to say there was problems with the film and they were doing everything they could to try to start it. So I went outside to see what was happening. I realise very quickly Screen 8 (first screen we were in) had no problems and their film had started which was frustrating. Spoke to one of the supervisors and at that moment they got the news it would moved to a third screen, Screen 5. If you never been Cineworld in Glasgow this is the tallest cinema in the world. So there are only 3 or 4 screens in one level. So moving 200 people to one level down isn't that easy. By then, having been at the cinema for almost the length of the film we decided we had to go as we had a schedule for today. So never saw the film but got vouchers instead.

Re: The Croods
I went to see it this morning along with hubby and 2 kids. We all loved it except for my 2 year old, who enjoyed it but found it quite scary as well. My 6 year old was on the edge of her seat the whole way though, cycling from laughing out loud to shrinking in terror on her seat (in a fun way!) She absolutely loved it and wants to see it again. Me and Hubby really enjoyed it, I think it's one of the best animations I've seen in while. Lots of laugh out loud moments. Great entertainment for all the family.
