The Kingdom was my first free screening, so I have a bit of a soft spot for it, but it was just an OK movie.

The last movie I saw was Lost In Space, recorded off TV. Oh dear!

I have just watched Edward Scissorhands for the first time – what a joy! Simply loved it! :D Johnny Depp’s performance is nothing short of incredible. His acting does this film justice, and I could not imagine any other actor doing a better job. Initially his acting is non-vocal, and his facial acting is superb. The entire film was a visual treat, with pastel bungalows, surreal shrubbery and amazing outfits and hairdos. Tim Burton has created a modern masterpiece with this fantasy fairy-tale. I wish I had seen this on the big screen.

Totally agree Andrews.

I've been a Burton fan ever since.

By the way, how many films have Depp and Burton made together? I always thought they were an item 8O

Oh my god .. I joined tescos film rental to get the free Harry Potter Box Set for free.... Got my first film from them on Saturday morning.....

Donkey Punch... First 20 minutes my boyfriend and I were bored stiff as it seemed to drag for a bit then oh my word... im not sure If I prefered being bored.. bit of a pornagraphic 20 mins followed then with a horrific out come, the gore just increased with some people having a not so pleasant outcome. For a Brit flick it was not too bad... plenty of shock and gore but not sure this film is for everyone... definitley pleased I never invited my mam round .. possibly would give this 6 out of 10. 8O

Some of us were 'lucky' enough to see this as a free screening last year, Sarah. It was a very tense thriller - I needed a drink afterwards! :D

I tried watching Franklyn yesterday evening. Fell asleep after less than half an hour on the couch. My OH managed to watch the entire film but said that it was very slow passed and didn't enjoy it.

It went straight to DVD, and had even fallen off the shelf and was wedged between the cheap Cola and the popcorn stands,
but I found it. Even though there were forces at work trying to stop me from renting it.
I found it, I took it home and I was going to watch it.

Despite the 1 star ratings and poor reviews. What did they know anyhow!
I inserted it into the DVD player.

Despite the crys of "worst movie ever"
I sat through the adverts and trailers (my fast forward wasn't working)

Despite the Facebook review.
"i loved it! are you kidding? i must be f**ked in the head but i love the sequel(DD is one of my fav
films too)"
I persevered.

Then it started.........I'd waited years for this moment..Oh my god it started...The girls were nice....but hold on......Wake up!

AAAaaaghhh......

...........The last movie I saw was.

There is a happy ending though..........it was a free rental :P[/spoiler]

Well, I watched Man On Fire with Denzel Washington last night. I quite enjoyed it, until I realised I had seen the end. I did not remember the beginning at all, s am very confused about why I would have watched the end, without seeing the beginning.

I liked the beginning.... and once again, this was a 'true' story, so I got upset to realise that some real people had died.

2001: A Space Odyssey
First time, but without a shade of doubt one of the best films I've ever seen.
Ingmar Bergman said "Today I feel that in Persona — and later in Cries and Whispers — I had gone as far as I could go. And that in these two instances when working in total freedom, I touched wordless secrets that only the cinema can discover." A notion I feel is equally if not more applicable to Kubrick's masterpiece. Absolutely outstanding, and a film I'd want as many people as possible to see, if only to hear their interpretations.

i finally watched transformers on thursday, i liked it, but i did find it incredibly boring and some scenes way too long.
however at the same time i had my nephew saying "oh watch this bit" "oh i like this bit" aw he's my favourite" "aunty anj are you WATCHING!?!" haha annoying bless him lol
so id say 6.5/10 but i guess i'd watch it again on a lazy sunday.
I did start watching the haunting in conneticut yesterday, but i was by myself and decided against it, so i'll wait until OH is there to freak him out too :D he i terrified of horrors hehe!
