Pretty guff IMO. Saw at Braehead tonight (Tue), pretty empty.

Cage was ok but the Herzog weirdness killed it for me. 3/10

Went to the Metro Centre and I'm pleased I didn't p*y to see it. My daughter was one of the lucky ones who decided she had enough and walked out. 3/10

Well, I thought this was OK, but I had low expectations based on the others' feedback. It is also the first Werner Herzog film that I have watched all the way through, and did not feel it was a challenge.

And I did giggle at times, although I cannot remember why...

Too right! - this film tried too hard to be cultishly strange but it just didnt work - and what was with the reptiles? Is that an 'in' drug joke?!

We giggled but it was at the ridiculousness of still sitting there and not joining the sensible ones who valued their time more and walked out.

I too thought it was ok and so realistic when he was on a trip and hallucinating so 10/10 to Nicholas Cage for that, I've seen it with patients at work. Was the ending real or was he on a high
But entertainment value 5/10

I have to admit that I quite enjoyed this film though it seemed to change from a serious crooked cop movie to a more surreal dark comedy probably about the time the "iguanas" appeared. Thought Nic Cage was excellent and am pleased I made the effort to go instead of being put off by the negative comments I'd read. Only negative I really agreed with was that the ending was weak.

Thought this was Nic Cage's best performance in years as a good(ish) cop made bad by pain and drugs, his downward spiral and his unlikely redemption. I loved the way the story unfolded McDonagh's reckless and at times very funny pursuit of drugs intertwining with his pursuit of the murderer. Not the heavy catholic guilt trip of Bad Lieutenant, to my mind, BL:PoC-NO is miles better.

9/10

Little snippets of goodness in an otherwise awful movie. Some of the laughs are nicely played, some good one liners. I couldn'd help but be reminded of the book Filth by Irvine Welsh but no where near as well thought through or put together.

Nearly walked out several times, but barely stuck it out till the end for very little reward 3/10
