The story had promise but some bits went just way OTT that just made it unbelievable and unfunny.

The only good bits were the Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson banter.

P.S. In addition to the the casts overageness, everyone seemed to a) know everyone else and b) be of the same age/year.
you're not alone, i was disappointed with this. i agree about the banter, that was funny. but the rest of the storyline seemed scattered and so unbelievable. i am an emma stone fan so i was expecting better things...

Just back from p*ying for a ticket.
I left the cinema thinking "I just saw one of the top 10 films of the year, I must see it again"
I hope I can sometime this week re-watch what is an absolutely hysterical, brilliant, perfect little film, well written, well cast, well made, well good (I hate myself now).
Loved it.
10/10

Wonder why this didn't get more previews? I saw it yesterday and watched it with relish - it's so knowing and such fun - just my kind of high school movie. I've no idea about the marketing, i.e. how and where it's being advertised and which audience is being targeted but I do hope it gets word-of-mouth if nothing else as it really deserves to be seen.

Brilliant film. Weirdly the second film this evening with both Emma Stone and Patricia Clarkson in it. Can't finish watching though, I am dead on my feet.
