Re: War Horse
Seen this at a packed croydon grants.
I went in with low expectations and pleased I did as thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it was wonderful and very sad at times( you do need a tissue). Loved Joey the horse, he was beautiful.

Re: War Horse
Saw this at Croydon grants too, really enjoyed it. A woman sitting across the aisle from me kept checking her phone literally every minute...in the end I got up & asked her politely to turn off her phone as it was distracting....I felt like saying "the world won't end if you don't check your phone fur the next 2 hours" but I managed to restrain myself lol. I loved the story, the music, beautiful landscapes. 8/10

Re: War Horse
well after hearing all about Snore Horse aka Bore Horse I had really low expectations for the film, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. The first part of the film with the family and the cottage was all very quaint and was a sweet set-up to the much grittier part that was to follow.
I do have a few issue with the film 1) non-native English speakers speaking English amongst one another (even the two brothers when they were by themselves, same with the French man and his granddaughter). It instantly irked me and I couldn't hear anything else for a while. 2) The film was too long. 3) That thing that crawled onto Cumberbatch's face. What on earth was that??
Having said that, I did think the film was beautiful and while I do not at all care for horses it did move me to tears once or twice. 8/10

Re: War Horse
I agree with everthing you say. Even though the people supposedly being German or French did not speak those languages to each other but spoke English with a heavy accent instead (the little girl was particularly annoying), it was also epic. And beautiful. It had some very touching scenes, and both OH and I loved it.canadian_turtle wrote:well after hearing all about Snore Horse aka Bore Horse I had really low expectations for the film, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. And can I just say, without sounding immodest, that if you got seats in the balcony area of the O2 superscreen today, it's down to me, because I didn't take it lying down that we were first sent up (at 12.45) then told the balcony would not open today for no specified reason. I got to speak to a manager while having OH queue up in an almighty downstairs queue, who consulted the Sky minions who agreed to send one of them up to the balcony after all. You're welcome. Don't mention it.

Re: War Horse
I really enjoyed this film. It was a long film but it kept my attention and enjoyed the interaction/ relationships that happened throughout.
