When 27/11/11 19:30
Where Brixton Jamm, .
Tickets Available

Macka B
A new venue for you to try and a reggae artist to go and see! One of the UKs most influential dancehall artists comes to Jamm.

Macka B is a British-born reggae artist, performer and activist with a career spanning almost 30 years in the United Kingdom and Jamaica, as well as many other parts of the globe.

After discovering his sound and talent through the early part of the 80's with appearances in competitions (which he won), on BBC2 and Channel 4 also, and some early single releases, he met Mad Professor and subsiquently signed to his Ariwa records imprint and in 1986 released his first LP "Sign of the Times" which reached number 1 in the reggae charts.

From here on, his albums, tours, achievements and influence on the scene in the UK and beyond are almost impossible to list due to the sheer volume, but with 20 studio and live albums released over the last 25 years and becoming the first UK reggae artist to perform in Australia and the first of any reggae artists to perform in the former Yugoslavia, it is plain to see what a true UK legend this man is.

On the night, support comes from DJ Skinshape. Expect a variety of reggae and dub, mostly from the roots-era, but also more modern tunes that reflect the production talent of this unique artist. A great addition to what is already a stand out night. Jared has also shared the bill with artists such as Skream, Rusko, Jakes, Caspa, Coki, Benga, Cotti, Bar 9, Nero, Sub Focus, Breakage, Jack Beats, 16 bit, MJ Cole, Sinden, Plastician + many more leaders in the scene.

As well as DJing, his production skills has recieved recognition from DJs such as Annie Mac & Sinden and has had radio play on Xfm, Radio 1, Kiss & Rinse FM.

An amazing dance in store and another night at Jamm just not to be missed.

Doors open 7.30 p.m. Support - DJ Skinshape

Wilton's Music Hall - Monday 5th December 19.30

BBC Comedy Presents Adam Riches
Join 2011 Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner Adam Riches for a brand new interactive comedy.
He is Mastermind.

A mysterious and enigmatic millionaire who made his fortune as the model on the box of the popular seventies board game and who every year invites a select audience onboard his private junk to compete in a series of bizarre and twisted games that will push them to their very limits.

All will enter. Most will leave. But only one will fight a giant, ride a lizard and feed a centaur. So come one, come all, but come ready to be part of the show.

A highly original blend of narrative, character and interactive comedy curated by 2011 Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner Adam Riches and featuring entertainment from Perrier Award Winners Will Adamsdale and Laura Solon and Roadside Café Owner Brian Gittins.

“There is some kind of wonderful to watching a great idea well written and expanded into a brilliant sketch, performed to perfection and squeezed until its comedy pips squeak. Adam Riches is exactly that kind of wonderful. - Kate Copstick, The Scotsman
