Comedy at the 99 Comedy Club Leicester Square Storm -

"Brett Goldstein is aperformance dynamo, with punchy amusing material to match. His set has a pace and energy that can generatea high-voltage spark in even the quietest gigs, ensuring the perfectpresentation for his gag-driven material. He’s a sharp operator who deftly twists expectations for off-kilterpunchlines that catch the audience unawares..." Steve Bennett, Chortle

Playing Pinter
17th - 22nd January 2012 @ 10:15pm

An itinerant turns up at the Old Red Lion Theatre...

He is there by chance on his way to Sidcup to findhis papers, his identity...
But he is compelled to tramp from place to place bythe voice in his head. It is the voice of his creator. The voice is that of Harold Pinter and only the itinerant can hear it. He thinks his name is Mac Davies or maybe Bernard Jenkins. But he is outraged when he hears that Pinter has got the Nobel Laureate and the million quid that goes with it.

After all, The Caretaker made Pinter’s reputation, it was and is, the key play. But Jenkins, or maybe Davies, is the caretaker – the title role. So what’s in it for him? How come Pinter gets all the gravy? And anyway, will his creator’s work stand the test of time? And what’s in store for the old itinerant? And what can he tell us about his creator?
