Ive currently got a HTC WIldfire, its not as good as the iphone but its a good and cheaper alternative, pretty much does the exact same thing except connecting to itunes is a bit more difficult!

Hey aruif, I don't know if this will influence your decision at all but the MSE weekly email says:

£100 Amazon voucher with mobile contract

b*y any android handset (HTC, Samsung, LG, etc) on a contract tariff with three via comparison Top10.com* and get a free £100 Amazon voucher.

For example, get a Sony Ericsson X8 for £15/month on a 24 month contract with 5,000 texts, 100 mins & 500 MB data.

Or get the HTC Desire HD also on 24 months for £30/month including 1GB data, 5,000 texts and 500 mins. See the full list of phones on offer - please note you MUST go through the top10 link above to get the voucher though, don't sign up from this page.

Top10 will email you the voucher within 60 days. The voucher is valid on anything across Amazon and you'll have 12 months to spend it.

We haven’t seen most of these packages cheaper anywhere else so the £100 voucher is a big boost. Yet do ensure it’s the right tariff for you before signing up (see above for how to check) as in the long run that outweighs any other considerations.

yeah i've read that android phones aren't compatible with macs which is really annoying. i do quite like the look of some of these smartphones but that they don't work with itunes, iphoto any of my docking stations (including alarm clock, stereo and car stereo) are all frankly a major turn off even if some look quite nice!

The HTC wildfire that's the one that's a bit smaller right? that looks really cute. i am tempted!

i'll make no bones about it i want a new iphone but right now i can't see it happening. i miss the days of 12 month contracts!!

i've come up with a way that i can have my iphone and eat it... err yea
i'm gonna get rid of my tv/home phone and just use broadband saving me £11 a month and cancel my music week subscription saving £9 a month and bobs your uncle it should only, in theory cost me £1 a month more YAY!
and if i cancel my iphone insurance of £35 every quarter then i should be able to add it to contents insurance at a smaller premium.

FINGERS CROSSED.

this is looking like a good upgrade deal to me now! screw you o2 you're not gonna make all that extra money out of me and not give me anything for having been such a loyal customer!

tilly wrote:It depends on how much money you have . I hate 24 month contracts that I b*ght my iPhone outright and now p*y tesco £15 a month( 30 day contract) on a Internet, mins and texts deal. I just like the fact you aren't tied in!

My brother is with three and has problems with signal in his flat whereas i never did!

thanks for this comment tilly! i've saved a small fortune i think! £185 over 24 months! o/ o/

As this seems to be a perennially popular topic, maybe we should have a "Mobile Phone" thread?

But on that subject, whilst I know I am always banging on about "Which?" magazine and its reviews for various products and services (since it has always served me well), I was interested to hear that their survey found that Tesco and Asda both beat any actual mobile company for customer service. We've been with the same provider for 12 years but I shall bear that in mind next time I renegotiate our contract.

I did wonder if i should start such a thread but didn't want to be presumtious and start threads! I did do a search too to see if there was one.
