WELL DONE, Allsinging! And on what was forecast to be the hottest day of the year so far! Must admit I cut my walk short this morning as it was so hot and that was much earlier, so I take my proverbial hat off to you. A half-marathon next?

Just got back from the York Race for Life event with my shinny medal :p

Its the first 5k run for me and the first Race for Life but after (ha ha) it was great..shame i picked the hottest day of the year

I don't actually feel too bad (except my stomach's a bit nauseous and my thighs ache and for some reason the back of my hands hurt when i rub my thumb over them...yes maybe don't rub your thumb over them is the answer) i expect tomorrow will be the test, lots of stretches and some more before bed and I'm sure I'll be bouncing for more.

...and although you shouldn't really be smug about yourself but (don't you just love the buts) I actually jogged..OK not fast but i didn't walk or crawl as expected..i may have looked like a sweaty beetroot with my hair plastered to my face but i did it.... :p

I am SO PROUD of you Allsinging!!! You ran, girl, you jogged it all the way! WELL DONE!! Cant wait to update your entry on the spreadsheet next week. It was fun wasnt it?

And more importantly, you did this for Cancer Research AND you raised more than your target.

Thanks guys

That's so kind, she says while trying to sit in a comfortable position..its just above the knees that hurts the most along with my arms (must be the swinging like a mad lunatic) and my toe next to my big toe as it is longer than the aforementioned big toe (sign of intelligence that..googled it so must be true ) foot must have been moving in my trainers.

Hundreds and hundreds walked and many ran like lunatics only to slow down and let the walkers take them over again ..I mused myself (as you do) with my steady jog and trying to pace myself but when i realised walkers were passing me i realised my jog was a little to steady... so speeded it up a bit..yes a bit

...and yes it was fun..to be part of something so huge, to be with fabulous people all thinking of those around them affected by cancer and knowing my Dad was with me..OK probably sniggering like Mutley at my beetroot face but there none the less

Thanks again everyone for all your support and for just being so lovely

Drink lots of WATER Betty. Sometimes the brain can blur the difference between hunger and thirst. You know you have ate a lot as it is, so there is a sign that it is more water you need to drink. Herbal tea is also a good to have.

And I hope you're eating quality calories. Keep the Saturate fats to an absolute minimum and spread your meals into smaller ones to raise your metabolism fat burn rate.

Great stuff with the cycling, keep it up! Make sure you do some postural exercises too because, I find cycling can be a little bad for posture...but not everyone agrees, it seems to be a debatable subject.

Well now that Allsinging has set a brilliant and inspiring example of what we can all achieve, not just for ourselves but for others in need, she has now become my role model :) So I will now start promoting my first ever charity run which will be The Great North Run half marathon on 19th September. Regulars here will already know that I've been losing weight and training hard for this event and I will be doing this in the cause of Asthma UK :)

So if you have change in your pocket to sponsor my charity run, that would be most cool, dudes and dudesses o/ o/ . Even if you are a little skint, who isnt these days! Still click on my link and enjoy reading my journey updates and perhaps down the line you can sponsor something when that pocket gets a tad bulkier ;)

I will have the sponsor link in my signature shortly but for now, here it is:

http://www.justgiving.com/RunTejRun

Oh and you can track my training progress and runs on here:

http://runkeeper.com/user/RunTejRun

This is actually an Iphone and Android application. If you have an Android phone or an Iphone, there is a superb free application called Runkeeper which tracks all your cardio activities and maps your walks/runs then uploads to the internet (as you can see from my example profile above). Go ahead and download it, and we can invite each other as running partners or team :) When you've done it, I'll tell you how to invite me or I invite you on my team. Then we can track each other progress, send motivation comments to each other!

Download the app from either searching your maket for Runkeeper, or from this website: www.runkeeper.com. There is a pro version (p*y version) which is not neccessary and only on Iphone at the moment. It does have nice extra featrues such as voice over progress announcements but not essential. The free version is good enough, you can always upgrade later if you will like to have the extra features.

Keep on the health track guys and make the most of this damn good weather!!
