Learnt a lot about taste too, and making cocktails! The event finished at 3pm but we stayed on at the bar for another two hours, wallowing in the view and cocktails!!

Re: The Diary Room
Had such a superb time at Paramount Viewing Gallery, Centre Point, where the Grey Goose cocktail tasting was taking place this afternoon. What a beautiful day to see all of London below us! I always wanted to go up, since a young child, and when I came out of the lifts and saw the view, I was gobsmacked! There has never been anywhere in London since BT Tower closed its doors to the public to see the city 360 degrees, like other cities have Eiffel Tower etc to see the city, which is opened to the public. London Eye is just not the same, and the time is restricted. Gherkin is only by invites only.

This used to be a private club but is now open to everyone but you have to book in advance. I went up there last week, prettyxcool and felt exactly the same as you. I was amazed and enjoyed a drink while walking around the top viewing area. Then we had dinner on the 32nd floor which was very pricey (someone else was p*ying) but very good. I was told you can just come for a drink and spend as long as you like in the viewing area which I thought was great value Then you could head down to Soho for a more modestly priced meal!

Re: The Diary Room
Have any other Londoners tried the new Time Out deals? The first few didn't appeal to me but today's offer of £10 for a top-price (£40) seat for "Lend Me A Tenor" was right up my street so I grabbed it and went to the matinee. Slight hiccup when the Box Office staff knew nothing about the deal but I got my ticket after a short wait.

Re: The Diary Room
I thought you would enjoy it PXC. I'm surprised you were capable after all the vodka cocktails that would have been flowing at that event. There is virtual tour of the viewing gallery on the Paramount website that gives some idea of the spectacular views from thereejwrank wrote:prettyxcool wrote:Had such a superb time at Paramount Viewing Gallery, Centre Point, where the Grey Goose cocktail tasting was taking place this afternoon. I remember doing this two summers ago in Valencia just before the Valencia Street Circuit! It was great fun and we didn't do too badly: only tried once and we came second in fastness! Gosh, was it hot and humid that day! We very nearly melted. Can't bear to think how hot it gets in a racing car!superhero wrote:I went to the Taste of Spain festival last year on Regent St, it was quite fun, but I was absolutely hopeless on the pitstop challenge. ejwrank - I am hoping someone else will be p*ying for me too!
FMUKers have all the fun, don't we! Went to Taste of Spain the last few years, and really enjoyed it. One year, they had the people tower, where people just kept climbing on top of each to form a tower, getting higher and higher, and it looked really unstable, as if it were going to topple over, and everyone was really holding their breath as the last person, a little boy climbed right up to the top to make the peak! Fantastic entertainment.cinefila1 wrote:I remember doing this two summers ago in Valencia just before the Valencia Street Circuit! Re: The Diary Room
Came back from a sunny France to find no real exciting codes. What a bore. Stakeland? Bridesmaids? Sorry, not for me!
Go ahead, make my day - by visiting my blog: http://jacobthehobnob.wordpress.com/
Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2012" club. I saw 32, which is rather delightful.. I beat Mr. Glass on free films but he narrowly inched me out on total films seen.
Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2011" club. I saw 20, interestingly enough. My more realistic target was to see more free films than TheyCallMeMrGlass. I lost.
