I saw Tori Amos accompanied by the Metropole orchestra yesterday evening at the Royal Albert Hall. It was such a fabulous concert! I was over the moon when I managed to b*y a ticket for half price on ebay and get such a great seat close to the stage. :D

Ray Davies, right now: quite good. So far he played Dedicated Follower of Fashion, Dead End Street, Sunny Afternoon, which I love and was so happy to hear live! But it's not amazing. It's ok.

I was at GM too, Octo! A great show. We were up in the gods with restricted view, unfort, but just sat back and listened. He sounds just as good as he did 30 years ago (although my recollection is based on CDs as was too ickle then!!). A really beautiful and timeless voice. Wish he had sung "I can't make you love me" which would have been amazing with the orchestera, but you can't have it all! :D

GM?
I have to say I was a bit disappointed :(
But still, he's a Kink, so he got me... a little bit :)

I felt so lucky to be sent inside that night. Same for Regina Spektor. I would have been so sad to work at a door or whatever... but I'm less a fan that my sister. She used to really love her. I felt I was there for her :)
I wanted Tori to play Mr Zebra so bad!!... but she didn't. Grr.

I'm sorry that you couldn't make it to the gig, ClareBarr! :(

Octopus, so you work at the Royal Albert Hall? Nice!

It's a pity that Tori didn't play some more "classics" during the encore. Funnily enough, I knew about 90% of the songs played in the first and the second halves but knew none of the songs played during the encore...
