I was at Johnny Hallyday's concert last night. He is a French icon, and it was funny to see that, for once, my team had no idea who the guy was and how successful he was. They planned a seated Arena, while it was a rock concert and everybody stood up and ran to the stage once it started. They also tried to put the French speaking team members in strategic positions as 90-95% of the audience was French (I was surprised to see English people, to be honest!).
So I had the opportunity to show off, had a lot of friendly customers, one guy gave me a tip that was actually a 2 euro coin (!), and two customers kissed me on the cheeks.

The support band was Amandine Bourgeois, a TV reality singer (she participated in a kind of French X-Factor). When she was in the show, she had a rather 'rock' and cool look. But on stage, she had high heels and a mini and skin-tight pink dress. Awful!
A few people left while she was covering 'Crazy' by Gnarls Barkley, telling me 'she's driving us crazy!'

Then: Johnny Hallyday. Well, you probably never heard of him, but he's supposedly the 'French Elvis' (even though he's not). But in France, even if you don't listen to his music, you know it, and you know the lyrics. He's been THAT popular for 50 years. He's our Beatles.
So the show was not as spectacular as loads of other ones he did in stadiums etc, but still, it was impressive (especially for the rest of my team) to see the audience singing and dancing and screaming his name.
I still think that he used his voice much more better when he sings balads than when he's 'rocking'. And I still think he's a bit of an idiot, especially as he said 'It's good to be at the Royal Albert Hall, it reminds me lots of things' while he's never been there before. And it's obvious he says the same things at every single concert he perfoms. But still, I was very curious to see him as, as I said, he's an icon. And it was a very interesting night for the whole team!

I got given some tickets for jonny hallyday and seen him last night too.
I was one of the few English people. With my Sri lankan friend

We went not knowing much about him.
But he was fantastic. Fab voice I know he is known as 'French elvis'. But we thought he was mix between elvis, tom jones and meatloaf.
He sang a Tom jones song too. :)
Omg. The crowd were wild. But in good way.

I did feel a little uncomfortable when he decided to start grinding with the microphone stick on the floor.
He couldn't get up either after lol.

The band he had was awesome.
Never knew I would enjoy a harmonica so much. The player of that was one of highlights.

The lady before had a really strong voice but every time she finished a song she could hardly stand. Sure she was either drunk or off her face on something.

Grizzly Bear was... awwwwwwwwwwwwe.
I missed them three years ago when they were playing for a festival I was working for - I just saw one or two songs quickly but couldn't really leave the press area so that was about it.
Tonight was my revenge! And they are so good!!

Did you see the support band villagers?
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"

A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

No, we arrived just before Grizzly Bear. But I saw him two years ago, he was supporting Wild Beasts. He was quite good, although after a few songs it seems to be the same again and again.

I think his sound has changed a bit lately. Plus the tracks from the new album are a little different. Seems to be a bit rockier and more raucous than when I saw him at the Old Vic Tunnels back in 2010. He and his band went down a storm last night. Grizzly Bear were awesome of course.

My friend won tickets for emeli sandi last night at the royal Albert hall
She was amazing. Such a beautiful voice. She performed so much better than she did at the Olympics.

I didn't know all her songs but her voice is mesmerising
Professor green and labyrinth also showed up to perform their song with her.

If u get the chance I see her live definately recommend it.
