pottermore.com. Just hover your mouse around until you see it change into a hand and click ;)

Its down now though! Its just the video announcement thats new. The actual website will be available in July to a select few who give their email address then to everyone else in October

The website is a sweet idea obviously a clever platform to sell the e-books. But nevertheless its an inventive platform and with the involvement of JKR herself contributing canon as I originally hoped. I look forward it.

But the fact that this moment of reveal could not handle the millions of users from around the world means JK needs to whip her webmasters asses to get their act together!

There's a great deal more official info about the website on here.

http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2011/ ... ect?page=2

18000 new words from JKR on the new website which is a third of the extra HP material she has in her desk draws which over time will be released on the site and further developed. This is great for fans. But I do want her to release a new book soon (not Potter, but her crime detective novel!)

i started the first rather inventive one but gave up on later ones. its a bit kiddy for me Beate (I'm possibly older than you think I am, you see) and tbh I've read the wizard school thing by other authors previously lots of times (Ursula le Guin, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's works).

I'd never read 'The Hobbit' again, you know? Its the same with the Twilight books, the first film was a cracking movie and it put teen vampires on the map, but I wouldnt want to plough through Stephanie Meyers dull writing style when I've read some fantastic Anne Rice vamp novels.

Even if you havent read the books, how the hell did you escape not knowing who dies?!? Everyone has been blurting it out since release!

The thing with these harry Potter Books, the narrative matures with the protaganists. JKR's writing flows beautifully with incredible wit and imagination that many adults would enjoy too. There is a reason why she is more acclaimed than Stephanie Meyers amongst the adult readers. But I get your stance, everyone has their own flavours. I've read all 3 of those authors you mentioned too and each have their own brilliant style. Regards to the Hobbit, that was a childrens story, one of my favourites. But when I went onto reading Lord of the Rings, I thought WTF, why are these books so big, then when I started reading them I kept thinking WTF, this aint for kids, I'm getting bored, whats all these little numbers at the bottom of the pages for? Appendices? Why the fmuk do I have to keep going there? Lucky I didnt say swear aloud because I was only 12 and would have got seriously smacked. Lord of the Rings was definitely for the older children and adults. I read them again later and appreciated their signicance as the original and definitive fantasy books. But deep down, for me, the Hobbit was the real masterpiece of storytelling. JKR is amongst the greats, purely for the way she writes and I just look forward to anything she writes, even an article on world events. Anything. Dont suppose there is any pursuading you to give those later HP books another stab? ;)

I agree with regards to The Hobbit, it's one of my favourite books from my childhood before I even knew that Lord of the Rings existed!
