I'm supposed to be singing this evening but tempted to do something for me as I've already been at a funeral today. CSL sounds just like what I need!

I am just back from Apollo Piccadilly -I stopped by the Empire and the guys there looked at me funny when I handed the CSL print out as they were showing Warrior  - were I had the nice surprise to finally meet a_hoodie, prettyxcool and milkchocmonkey that kindly kept me a seat :D

The movie was ok I think but I am pretty disappointed as all the best bits (but one that I won't spoil) were in the trailer; and I had seen the trailer too many times!
The actors were ok; I felt like they did not have much material to work on.... but then it's a romantic comedy, so maybe I should not ask for amazing acting there!

a generous 7/10 for me

(Ryan Gosling was handsome but I like him better without his 6-pack!)

Had a fabulous time at the Odeon Greenwich. Got there early and started the queue again. Cinema got really full.

I loved this. This was proper entertainment, one that makes you forget you are tired and cranky. It was funny but it was also mature and I had a few tears in my eyes at the end. I loved the references to a "PG 13" life. Wen Steve Carrell just had a showdown with his wife, she leaves and it suddenly starts raining, you think, "what a cliche." Then Steve Carrell looks up to the sky and says "What a cliche" and suddenly you are laughing. There was also a very touching scene where he works in his family's garden at night as he still cares about his wife, and he sees his wife phoning him, pretending to need his practical help with the boiler, so he goes through the charade of helping her light the boiler over the phone. It's one of those quiet scenes that say so much. Funny to see a reference to The Scarlett Letter in a movie that has Emma Stone in it. The boy was a bit old for his 13 years but still amusing.

I am definitely middle-aged though: Ryan Gosling does nothing for me, but I find Steve Carrell strangely attractive.

Got a free large popcorn out of O2 Priority Moments again, yeeha.

Very, very good.
