Titanic 3D
Re: Titanic 3D
I went last night at wandsworth and found raj.... who was probably going to sneak out and watch something else, but as you can read, he enjoyed it!
i've seen the film loads of tiems but never in the cinema. The times I'd seen it didn't quite prepare me for the overwhelming feeling of disaster that i really felt watching it this time on a huge screen and in 3D. It is certainly a film made for the big screen not a tv set. I really enjoyed it (bit not the people behind me taking and russtling their bloody sainsburys bag).
8.5/10

Re: Titanic 3D
Wow a lot of people turned up at Bournemouth ABC so glad we were in the biggest cinema plenty of room. This would you believe it was my first time of watching Titanic never had enough time to sit though 3 hours. The whole family enjoyed it from start to finish and the time flew past as for the 3D effect it was ok nothing to write home about, did add a little something to the film not sure i would sit though it again.Overall a great evening out.

Also saw in Wandsworth - did anyone else there notice the 3D took about 10 minutes to go on? It was fairly full, with a queue snaking around the lobby until 7.20. The 3D was pretty good, actually, unsurprisingly, but it helps that this is a very computery movie! As for the storyline itself, I've definitely become less tolerant of it as I've gotten older and now Rose just annoys me!

Re: Titanic 3D
Although I’ve managed to avoid watching Titanic thus far, purely on principle, I though it was quite good… not great but good. Worthy of all those Oscars I think not. Must’ve been a quiet year at the Oscars or a bit of James Cameron stroking.
Anyway, seeing it in 3D was quite good and added to the effect, especially seeing it on a big screen. A solid 6/10 for me but can understand why others may have rated it higher…
Oh, quite a good turnout with the screening being at least 90% full…

Re: Titanic 3D
I didn't think I'd enjoy this film quite as much as I did, being 15 years older than when I originally saw it and noticing a lot of things that were impossible or cheesy and taking away from the overall realism of the story. However, about midway I got completely gripped by it and by the end I was very emotional (the old couple on the bed, the mother reading to her children and the very final scene where Rose finds herself back on the ship with everyone applauding her, particularly got to me).
The 3D however was largely pointless. It added some depth and clarity but with the loss of brightness and annoyance of having to wear the glasses over my own glasses for 3+ hours it was hardly worth it. Still, I'm glad I got to see this film in its entirety once more on the big screen, it was worth the 3D hassle.
I can't believe I still missed some of the actors who are now better known though! I recognised Victor Garber (who I didn't know in 1997) and laughed at seeing Billy Zane with hair. But apparently Ioan Gruffudd was in it too, I completely missed him! And didn't recognise Bernard Hill until the very end.
Cineworld Haymarket was freezing by the way. I did not sign up for that 4D experience and it was really annoying!

Re: Titanic 3D
Watched this at Bolton cineworld, which seemed to have the heating on max as it was very warm in there. Loved the film 15 years ago when I saw it at the cinema, and really enjoyed watching it again in 3D. Personnally I liked the 3D effects they did, but wouldn't have pa*d to go and see it again in 3D. Had an annoying couple in front who though it was the best idea ever to get their phones out and keep taking pictures of the film. Some other people a few rows back b*ght three small children (looked about 2,3,4), who spent most of the film crying and messing about. Why people bring small children to such a long late non-kiddy film is beyond me. My four year old was at home tucked up alseep in bed, where all four year olds should be at that time of night - rant over lol.

Oh yes, I can see it now. Man, everyone was so squeaky young 15 years ago!Beate wrote:He was commanding the only boat that turned back to look for survivors in the water! "Anyone out there? Re: Titanic 3D
Went to Glasgow cineworld to see this last night, public transport sucks btw start time on my ticket was 7:15 we arrived at twenty mins past was surprised and relieved to see a few still lining up to get in i asked the start time and was told 8 o'clock plenty of time for the pic n mix
Seen the lovely yinster and her oh always a pleasure and i could be wrong but i think it might have been MG who advised us that would be a good idea to claim our seats then go for the pic n mix thank you if it was you, shame on my memory if it wasn't lol I really enjoyed the film and for the first half i thought the 3D was pretty nice although i agree that there was more depth than the sort of coming at yer face bit's, i forgot just how harrowing the film is in parts and it was also strange to see Leo as just a kid (how the years fly past) i was never overly convinced on the love story aspect with this movie but i don't think it detracts from the actual story itself, such a long film twas 20 past midnight by the time i got home yaaaaawn!!
7/10 from me just because i had a lovely wee night probably would have been more had i not seen the film before xoxox

Re: Titanic 3D
there were a few characters who displayed great bravery that night who were actually real, Mollie Brown (Kathy Bates) and Harold Lowe (Ioan). They REALLY did what they did. Brings a tear to the eye, that does. I am pretty sure I and people these days would do a Billy Zane in the same situation.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?
