Saw this last night in Wandsworth. It was a touching film about an elderly couple, the wife was an optimist and her husband a pessimist. They loved each other very deeply but in their own way. Vanessa Redgrave (as always) lit up the screen whenever she was on – and (as always) was a complete delight to watch. Terence Stamp, far removed from the sixties heartrthrobs he used to play, was her crusty, miserable husband (he was even more miserable than my father-in-law – well, thinking about it, no, he wasn’t!). Christopher Eccleston and Gemma Arterton were excellent in their roles. It was basically a film about coping with death after a loved one dies, how we all cope differently and how it can tear a family apart. In this film it was the choir in the day care centre that brought everyone together. The singing wasn’t great, but it was not about the singing it was about taking part. A sweet film – a sort of geriatric Glee. 6/10

The evening was slightly spoilt by the latecomer who arrived half an hour late and wanted to sit in the middle of my row forcing us all to stand up to let him past – the cinema was 40% full so he could have chosen any number of easily accessible seats.

Went to see it last night, funny and tearful in equal parts. Stamp at 74 and Vanessa Redgrave 76 were wonderful and a lovely performance from Gemma Artherton

I watched this movie yesterday at Cineworld in Fulham. I liked it more than I expected. I think that Terence Stamp and Vanessa Redgrave are great in their roles. Gemma Arterton ids good too, she looks very sweet... It is a bit predictable at times, but is very touchful as everybody has experience the illness of a loved one. Tears granted...

I think any age group will enjoy it if they have lived through the experiences in the film.

I agree with The Sparrow, enjoying this movie is not about your age but about your experiences and to a degree your personality. I don't fall under the "oldies" category yet liked it. But then I do like (among others) touching stories, even if they are on a "too sentimental" side.

Well I'm 23 and thought it was a wonderful film, not the type I usually bother about but I really hope it does well. Fantastic performances from everyone.

Terence Stamp has said on This Morning, that he turned down the role of Arthur in Camelot.
One reason he took the part in Song for Marion is because Vanessa Redgrave played Guinevere and this part was Arthur! lol

another one agreeing with The Sparrow. The day before I heard an old neighbour & friend died from breast cancer, she was a lot younger then my mum who has just spent two gruelling years years recovering from the same. it touched home for me.

i just kept being amazed to see TS so old, his hair so thin, with clearly visible bald patch. I know but arnie & stallone are a decade younger but they have just relaunched their careers with full heads of dyed (& prob transplanted) hair. TS is still gorgeous and aging normally. i hope to do the same.

Saw this at Vue Shepherds Bush this evening, a lot of empty seats and the odd people leaving in between the film. I found the film very touching and I fully enjoyed it. 7/10
