Re: Get him to the Greek
I really found this absolutely hilarious, had lowish expectations so I was happy! Really laugh out loud, and I wasn't bothered by the crudeness or swearing.
8/10!
Also great to see tilly (a long distance wave from the end of the row!) and prettyxcool too, I really see you a lot!!!!

Re: Get him to the Greek
I thought it was great, so so funny. I love a lot of Judd Apatow films though, I like the whole bromance thing he does and I just love love love Russell Brand. I kept hearing different things about the film so I was kinda not expecting it to be as good as it was but I really enjoyed it. I'm not bothered by Loved the little Sarah Marshall reference and surprisingly Diddy was pretty good, who knew he was so funny? I loved Tom Felton's cameo that was pretty funny. But the best scene though has to be when they were in Vegas with the Furry Wall, I was in stitches.

Re: Get him to the Greek
Think I would be embarrassed sitting through this with one of my daughters (even though they are a LOT older) with all the sex scenes. Mothers never did any of that stuff did they!Allsinging wrote:Glad you all enjoyed the film, i'm off to see it at Castleford tonight and taking my 15 year old who has been taking GCSE's over the last two weeks..these are the early ones, lots more in her final year

Don't like Russell Brand I think he is too crude and rude but surprisingly enjoyed the fim more than I thought I would. 6/10

I watched it with my mum and she was laughing more than I was, I found that more embarrassing lol. But then I have seen far worse with her in the roombiggins wrote:Think I would be embarrassed sitting through this with one of my daughters (even though they are a LOT older) with all the sex scenes. Re: Get him to the Greek
Saw this at a pretty busy Edinburgh last night.
A bit like eating a jar of Marmite mixed with Peanut Butter for me; some bits I loved and some bits I hated; so a real quandry to rate.
Never been a fan of Russell Brand or Jonah Hill but Brand was very good (at generally playing himself!). P Diddy was hilarious really liked him.
The song lyrics were hysterical as were the cameos.
The song and video over the credits at the end was my favourite bit.
6/10 from me.

Re: Get him to the Greek
First of all a huge thanks to the manger at Cineworld Fulham. They were told the screening was on Tuesday not Monday
All th eother screen were booked with other films but after some negociation with head office, they were able to show the film phew.
Well as a massive Russell fan, met him loads of times, seen loads of shows, I was a bit disappointed, but I would be the harshest critic. I didn't like the mix of comedy and seriousness, for me it didn't work. All the cast did well especially P Diddy
The girl who played Aaron's girlfriend, was in one of the shows I watch but couldn't remember who she was. Strangely enough my mate asked if Russells 'girlfirend' was is Damages and that suddenly made me remember 'Mad Men'
Rudeness and crudness doesn't really worry me, that's what you expect in one of these films. 7/10

Re: Get him to the Greek
very poor, quite disappointed really thought it wasn't as good as sarah marshall then again I watched that again the other day and didn't find it funny second time round, maybe i'd had too much jeffrey! The russell brand hatin boyf is hardly on speakin terms with me now for dragging him to this, even though i offered him a yorkie bar. And the metrocentre started early and didn't stop and restart the film til 20mins had elapsed, so err maybe that's why the old yorkie bar bribe failed? 4/10
Re: Get him to the Greek
I was at the Fulham screening too, good on the manager! I've got to say I was massively disappointed with this film, I'm a huge Judd Apatow fan (got him to sign my copy of Freaks and Geeks when he was down in London, really nice chap) who worships everything he does but after this and Year One, I'm starting to go all Mark Kermode on him. The film really didn't know what it wanted to do with itself, it went on and on without really having any themes or style until the end where they tried to tag on the message that the music industry is evil... wow that really did come out of nowhere. I like both Brand and Hill, but Hill throwing up for the majority of the movie isn't funny and Brand was far funnier and likeable in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, the character worked much better there when he was off drugs and was just a bit kooky. Sean Combs was pretty damn good, he made me laugh which is more than I've ever expected him to do but for me the movie was stolen by Carla Gallo in her one scene as Destiny, she is an actress who really needs to find a starring vehicle as she seems to rock in most of the stuff she does. All in all I'l give this 5.5/10, it should have been far funnier, it's a sad day when I think that I laughed more and harder in "She's out of my league" than I did in a real Judd Apatow movie...

I'd give the film a 7/10
Found it heaps better than FSM, and very funny.
