Re: Step Up 3D
Hello
5 minutes escape from the phone - aargh!
I saw this last night in Edinburgh and like Biggins stood in a very long queue outside the cinema until they decided to let us in at 6.30. We then sat for another 10 minutes and then we got two trailers. The other was the Zac Efron dead little brother story something about a Cloud I think?
I have to say I agree with milkchocolatemoney - what a pile of pants. The dancing was impressive but the script, dialogue and acting were anything but. At one point I thought the two leads were reading autocues in a scene where they were talking to each other!
I also took my glasses off at one point and yip, it made no difference so seems only parts were 3D.
I'm very glad I didn't p*y any hard earned cash to see this.
2/10 from me.

Re: Step Up 3D
I went to Shaftesbury Ave screening last night. Got there just before 6pm and there were only a few people in front of me in the queue. Shortly after, they let us through, checked for ID. There were 2 'security' type people making sure your mob was turned off before entering the screen. We promptly took our seats in the middle-middle where we usually sit (middle row, middle seats) and our row soon filled up. Was not able to get up and around let alone a good look around or see ANYONE
Was surprised to see how many tweens/teens turned up for this one, though it is understandable why. On a good note - I had a little girl sitting in front of me - so no head blocking my view, which often does happen as I am small!
Film was overall very lacking in dialogue, but the dancing was great, though once you've seen the moves, there's nothing more special about it. I was disappointed that the leading character Luke, hardly did any dancing. He did a few bits in the battles as part of the whole crew, in the background I may add, but nothing much solo. Apart from the semi-parkour stuff he did on the rooftop with Natalie as part of 'training'. I too was surprised to see that oriental guy from Glee too. Did anyone else spot another face?? The girl that played Moose's best friend/gf was the girl featured in the Missy Elliot video for 'Work It' (wearing a white trackie). I know that the guy who battled Moose in the park at the beginning of the film danced with Madonna on two of her tours and won the BBoy Championship 2009 as part of the USA crew, together with the guy who played Carlos. The Carlos spot goes to my bf. I wasn't too moved by the 3D either, bf enjoyed it more than me I think...
Overall 6.5/10 from me, my bf may give it a higher mark.

I didn't know she did stuff for Disney (no kids, so unaware of these things)! I just remember her from the Missy Elliott viddestresserai wrote:Her name is Alyson Stoner - done loads for Disney including Camp Rock etc. Oh and the Cheaper by the Dozen films!priamia wrote:The girl that played Moose's best friend/gf was the girl featured in the Missy Elliot video for 'Work It' (wearing a white trackie).

Re: Step Up 3D
I loved it thought it waaaaay better than Streetdance which I though was boring and the lead girl annoyed me. I know the story wasn't great but the dancing was amazing and it has a really good soundtrack, I can't get that Flo-rida and David Guetta song out of my head.

Re: Step Up 3D
Yeah lacked in story, but I think that may have made it better for me because all I wanted to see was the dancing which was executed very well indeed.
