The Switch

I was in Empire Leicester Square Cinema, and it was almost full!
The Switch is a very touching and entertaining father-son story rather than love story.
The boy Sebastian is very cute. Aniston is not bad too but Bateman is excellent.
Overall, I enjoyed this film.

The Odeon at Lothian Road was only about 20% full but it was also screening at Westerhailes tonight so perhaps busier there.

The little boy made the film watchable in my opinion. The film was not as humourous as it could have been. Pleasant but certainly not the best romcom I've seen - 5 out of 10.

Sutton was packed - which surprised me.

An okay film but nothing to get too excited about.

Jason Bateman was excellent, Jeff Goldblum was good, Jennifer Aniston was okay. The little boy stole the film!

Came away feeling that they could have done so much more with this.

A 6/10 from us.

Just seen this in a quite a packed Empire. We were all given a Marie Clare goody bag and the film was introduced by someone from Heart.

The first half was slow and dull, second half picked up when the little boy came into the story, he was so loveable and cute, and made the film. Thought Jennifer Aniston was a bit better than she normally is, and it was nice to see Jeff Goldblum. Jason Bateman's scenes with the boy was very touching and moving. Much better than I expected. The people in my row seemed to enjoy it more, they giggled all the way through. 5/10

I saw this at the Gate, Newcastle, and I'm pleased to tell you that the film turned up this week! The screen was packed - more than usual. We saw more previews tonight than usual - Eat, Pray, Love; Made in Dagenham; Tamara Drewe; Going the Distance.

I had low expectations of this film. I feel that I had been deluded into thinking that it was a rom-com - it was a rom, no com. There were some funny moments, but it wasn't an out and out comedy. It was a gentle romance, and it nearly got there. The pace was very slow, and as others have already commented, it picked up when Sebastian was introduced.
The growing relationship between father and son, and father and mother developed very slowly, but steadily.
Jason Bateman was wonderful in his role, and to be honest, I felt Jennifer Aniston did a pretty good job too. Great support from the little boy and Jeff What'shisname.

I spent a lot of time thinking, were these guys asleep during biology classes in high school? The kid had brown eyes, for heaven's sake.

Just got back from Apollo Piccadilly Circus for the show (a so called winning screening, Thanks to Smooth radio) but I guess peeps at Empire have more fun with free goodies . My first time here, the seat was so comfy and spacey. LOVVVEEE IT!

As for the movie, it's definitely a rom not so much com (I agree with andrews!). but anyhow, I like how the story progress. Felt really sad and touch when I understand why the boy loves photo frame . But I guess it's all predictable till the end. i think Jeff Goldblum is the funny one, Juliette Lewis is not that important (what a waste of good talent), they should hire someone less famous (cheaper!). Jen shows different side of her and Bateman as usual funny and charming at the same time. Sebastian cuteeeey. and Roland.... yucky! hehehe

I'll give it 6.5/10 for under utilised some of the good actors!
(9.5/10 for the cinema seat... it'll be a full 10 if got a free popcorn. hehehe)
