We have got caught by the jubilee mess as well. Got to London Bridge just before 14:00 and we've been told to go to Stratford and then down to O2 by 108... Somehow we made it and tickets were in our hands just few minutes after 15:00. I followed Beate's advice and started queuing at the guest list line but they bounced us saying that that wasnt our queue... Got our tickets from an other booth (where they asked for my id) and we ve got bk 103 row Q... Couldnt complain considering the time we got there.

2 hrs later show is over and I have to say that I (we) didnt like it... at all.
Ok for the not existing story (that we already knew) but here the story is not the only problem: music were poor, costumes were poor, really bad acting (if you can call it that), not talking of the depressing dancers and the miserable coreography (cmon they could have done a bit better with that projector - landscapes were terrible and interiors were even worse) and the annoying presenter ("boys and girls tell your mum and dad to b*y you merchandising"... And the program was 10 quid!!!) Ok, I get your point, we came here for the horses and not for a west end musical but again I didnt like it. Ok for the the ukrainian acrobats and the really good one riding the two horses but that was something like 15 mins overall and then what else would I save? Wagner with the sleeping donkey? The bride on the black horse (BTW how was that fitting in the story... Ah I forgot that is not important)?
There were actually few more moments I enjoyed: the massive horse was spectacular and so were the wild horses... but alice in wonderland played ways too long with them. I also like the dancing white horse and the one that was kicking in the air but overall there were just few sparkling moments in a flat show.
I understand most of people do like it, especially families with kids, but it was just not my cup of tea.

4/10

PS: Show of the year 2010? Are you kidding me? Who were the other contenders?

What a shame birovr. Then you should have come to the Lance Horne one off show at the Garrick Theatre tonight, First Things Last. What a brilliant lyricist and composer he is. The songs were sang, and intermingled with lots of banter, by some well known names including Alan Cumming (currently in Burlesque) and Graham Norton. He was really funny but so nervous about singing - his hands was shaking so much holding his song sheet! He couldn't understand why he was there with the creme of Broadway and West End stars. A very entertaining evening, although they shamelessly and lightheartedly promoted the album of the same name throughout the evening. We got really good seats too front row of Dress Circle, so a great view of the stage. Our visitors to London loved the show too.

I have to agree with birovr. My OH and I thought the show was boring, apart from 2 or 3 acts.

The guy standing on horses and jumping over logs was good to watch - also the act where guys were jumping on and off and going underneath fast moving horses was pretty cool. Wasnt able to see the screen properly because was sitting so side on. overall 6/10.

I was in the Jubilee massacre. Before we left home, OH checked tfl and Jubilee line was fine. But when we got to White City tube station, the warning was put up. We were annoyed cause the attendant even asked us which stop are you going even after we said we were going to O2. So, we had to tell her that we're heading to North Greenwich. and she asked us to take the Jubilee from Bond St (our ori plan), she didn't even know that the line was suspended. And then she said we should go to Bond St and asked for buses from there..... what??? buses on weekend at 1pm++ from Bond St and trying to catch a show at 3pm??? she gotta be kidding. so, we finally decided to take the river bus from London Bridge and arrived 20min after 3pm. and realise, everyone on the boat was running for the same show ;). I wish there's more than 1 line going thru the O2. My other friends were stuck in Southwark stn for more than 30mins cause they kept saying the tube is coming when she asked. they finally get on the bus and it took them 1.5hrs. huhhhh. we did arrived about the same time but what a journey!

So, we missed the beginning of the show and have no idea what's the story about. I brought a few friends and their children to the show.We definitely enjoy the horsey jumping and dancing but too bad my friend's son was asleep half of the show because he was too tired from the long trip to get there. When he woke up he asked, is the circus over??? hehehe :D

Totally agree with you. Those were definitely the highlights of the show for us. Still a 7.5/10 for the horse shows but thumbs down for the journey (I wish I can give a negative score!). Luckily, the tube was back on when the show was over

Well to be fair it was a one off to launch the album - so it was to be expected. Anyway as you say - it was a very entertaining evening, I thought the standard of singing was superb; and yes, the lyrics as well.

What with that on Sunday and the excellent Hans Liberg at Cadogan Hall tonight - "SFF you are really spoiling us"!

I saw this last night, the theatre was packed.

My companion and I both enjoyed it. A good mix of information and humour. I don't know if it would have encouraged me to start recycling and think about my carbon footprint if I didnt do it already - but the messages did seem to resonate.

I too 'pity the theatre cleaners' (wasn't it great) and I also think that the actors will need to wash their mouths out with soap. The use of the f*** word was tiring - I wanted to throw them a Thesaurus - I could not understand why they used the word so many times!!!!

Somewhere along the line I missed the fact that there would be no intermission - as did a number of the people sitting around me, who were looking at their watches also.

Overall a good show - worth seeing. It does need to be shortened or have a short intermission and the writers need to take a good look at a thesaurus as mentioned above

It absolutely needed an interval. And with the story broken up as it was I really could see no reason why one could not have been included.

Yes "it" was great despite getting absolutely covered and still having to shake on the escalator at Waterloo! As was the rain, but the star of the show for me was the polar bear.
