What a stupid day. Had to use my p*y as you go oyster as my bosses weren't bothered to sign the renewal cheque for another annual travelcard in time, then got thrown off the DLR due to a defective train in front and had to go a long way back and round, then walked into a restaurant sign! Nose still looks a bit red....
This is NOT my day.

Rain here this morning but dried up this afternoon so went along to the gym to have a swim in the outdoor pool. Making the most of it just now as the manager has decided it costs too much to keep it heated during the winter and so will close on Saturday and not reopen until March! The others that use it all year round are furious as we all p*y a good deal of money monthly for the use of all the facilities and have used it even when it is snowing in the past few years. We will still have the indoor pool but it is not the same as the indoor one is always busy with swimming classes and screaming children!! :wall:

That's my moan for today. :crying:

Outdoor heated pool sounds fab!! Perhaps if enough of you complain they'll either keep it open or at least give you a discount off your membership?

We have tried that and even said that they are advertising all the facilities to new members so it is against the trade description act but they are using the "saving on carbon footprint" rubbish - anything for them to save money. The manager says he will review the situation at the end of January and MAY open it at the beginning of March instead of mid march. BIG DEAL!

It is lovely swimming outdoors in the winter - the only minus point is having to run from the heated pool to go into the main building - that makes us all shiver!!!

How generous of him! Ahem.

Well that's not a good enough reason (contractually, morally it's fine!) depending on what it says in your T's&C's. Perhaps, if you feel strongly enough about it, pen a letter..?

He has had letters, phone calls and a face to face meeting with me and others. Some gave him abuse but that doesn't get you anywhere. Seemingly their head office has called a halt to the winter opening as the other clubs in the same group who have an outdoor pool were all closed in the past where we were - according to him - very lucky to have had it open the past few years.
I'll just need to spend more time upstairs on the machines and hopefully get rid of some weight before I put more on at Xmas and my holiday abroad in January.

Beate I am so sorry about your bad day. Just to cheer you up here's how my evening is going. Was due to see LAC this evening. Got home let the cat out, had a tidy up heard a cry of pain and Moo-Moo (the cat not me) had brought me a present. A live RAT into the kitchen. I screamed, Moo-Moo dropped the rat, they both turned to look at who was doing the screaming. The rat ran under the washing machine and Moo-Moo and I stooding looking at the washing machine for the next hour. I missed the film, Moo-Moo is now lying in front of the fire having a wash and the rat is still somewhere in the kitchen. BTW OH is away until Friday. EEEK
