Surely that's a scam, and one where they end up charging you all sorts of extras, then try to sell you a timeshare?raj101 wrote:won tickets for a holiday in costa del sol for 7 nights...that I have to p*y £49 for.....! WTF??? How is this a prize???

Find out more about it before you p*y. I agree that it smacks of timeshare scam.Ms Thrifty wrote:Surely that's a scam, and one where they end up charging you all sorts of extras, then try to sell you a timeshare?raj101 wrote:won tickets for a holiday in costa del sol for 7 nights...that I have to p*y £49 for.....! Re: I won....
I just won kodaline tickets off the radio!

I "won" such a promotional holiday a couple of years ago. We had to attend a couple of presentations, one in London and one while we were there on holiday, and as long as you do not b*y the timeshare, it is a free holiday (although you have to p*y for your own flights).
You have to p*y an admin fee of £49, but I got that back with a M&S voucher for £50 for attending the presentation in London. Then you pick 5 dates which you can go, then 3 months before your choice date, they ring you to confirm, so that you can book your cheap easyjet flight. At no time were we subjected to any hard sell, but you do have to spend 2-3 hours, to get your free holiday
But I went to the meetings with an open mind to find out what it was all about. Timeshares are not suitable for the type of holidays I like, and although they do have an answer for every comment I made, but at the end of the day, by my calculations, timeshares are very restrictive, and very, very expensive, and just not suitable for me. I would not recommend signing up, but if you can stomach 2-3 hours of presentation to try and persuade you to b*y in, then that is the only cost to have a "freebie" holiday. Incidentally, we had a great time, just used the lovely two bedroom apartment as our base, and we did not spend a penny there! The staff were lovely, the facilities were really good.
But read the reviews from Tripadvisor, and that is exactly how it is.

This is Club La Costa - it is there marketing ploy to sell timeshares - read the review from Tripadvisorraj101 wrote:won tickets for a holiday in costa del sol for 7 nights...that I have to p*y £49 for.....! WTF??? How is this a prize???
