Re: The Diary Room
It is, of course, Remembrance Sunday today and nearly time for the 2-minute silence, for those observing it.

I'm surprised you even made it to work. That sounded like a really lethal combination of drinkslarge marge wrote:Ouch. Hangover from hell this morning. Mother of all headaches...serves me right - see 'Freebies'!

Had to go to a charity fashion show at 2:30 too (Blossom was modelling, so couldn't miss that), followed by the whole family coming round for Sunday roast! And I've just remembered about the 2 pina coladas.bevvy wrote:I'm surprised you even made it to work. That sounded like a really lethal combination of drinkslarge marge wrote:Ouch. Today, for the first time in months, I had to scrape the ice from my car before driving to work. The air temperature had actually risen to about 4C, but the ice was still quite hard. Then, along the river valley, there was thick fog - altogether more like winter than autumn now!

I'm off to an international trade fair today so was hoping that someone might think of me if any tickets come up today. My preferred cinemas are Wimbledon, Kingston, Wandsworth and Epsom.
Cheers Guys - hope you all have good days today!

Great rejoicing in the Thrifty household: last week's edition of Time Out, published a whole week ago but delayed by the postal strikes, finally arrived today... just as those lucky London readers can b*y the new edition and suscribers within the M25 get theirs delivered by courier.

Re: The Diary Room
I live well within the M25 and was told that they do not deliver by courier in our area!
So I have cancelled my subscription.

Re: The Diary Room
I think the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing at Time Out, then. They have told me on more than one occasion that subscribers within the M25 get their copy by courier. I can hear the M25, but I'm on the wrong side of it in that sense. I have rung every week for 3 weeks now, because of the delays, and in the second week they told me that everyone would get their copy by courier from last week and that it would arrive between Tuesday evening and Wednesday evening. Silly me, I should have known better than to fall for this. When my copy failed, yet again, to arrive, I rang back and spoke to a different person and was told that I lived outside the courier area. At this rate, I will soon have spoken to every member of staff in the subscription department and I bet they will all have said something different.
By coincidence (if not, it was pretty provocative!), what I did receive was a subscriber satisfaction by e-mail,but with no opportunity to comment on these problems.
