I know it's only 22 November but I realised today that the traditional Xmas tree has yet to appear in the foyer at work. It usually arrives so early but a new landlord has taken over the building and there are major changes in progress so either it's coming later this year or not at all. I hope they haven't also dispensed with the local carol singing groups - used to be a different one each day.

Ok, so our local pharmacy deserves a Christmas present this year. They are simply fantastic, sorting things out with the GP, and we don't even need to say anything anymore, we just walk in and they say "Take a seat, we'll bring the meds in a minute", and a minute later it's all made up and ready to go. Problem is there is a whole lot of them although they seem to be all of the same family or something. And I think they are Muslims. So what do you give them as a present for all of them? I want them to feel appreciated but obviously not offended by an inappropriate gift. There's at least 5 of them.

Wouldn't one of those massive tubs of chocolate work? As far as I am aware chocolate doesn't offend any faith, there is plenty to go round even if there is more than 5 of them and they can be shared at work or at home (if they are all related). I expect the gesture means more than anything.

I think it's nice to give them something which shows that they are appreciated for the work they do. As Muslims they won't actually celebrate Christmas though they do commonly have a celebration anyway 'cause most of the country is! I don't think it's appropriate to to give personal gifts in the circumstances so chocolates or biscuits is probably the best. I always think these gifts last more than 1 day so they can dip in and out for several days and "sweeten" their days!

Its always nice to be appreciated and they won't be offended by christmas gifts. I'm a muslim and i give gifts to some friends who celebrate christmas and sometimes i get gifts too. Besides you can never go wrong with chocolates
