I keep forgetting to look in the free theatre/ concert thread.[/quote]

Why don't you subscribe to the topic so you don't miss out? I have entered the comp to see British Sea Power, not sure when the comp closes but I've still got my fingers crossed :cross:
Thanks for the tip just have done. never thought about subscribing to topics, just look on here when i get on computer. did you win the tickets?

I love Neil Dimond! he reminds me of my dad. As for Justin Bieber in 02 by the look of ebay the place could be quite empty.
No I didn't win this time :-( still I live to comp another day!
Does your Dad sing like Neil Diamond.....I've got to meet him if he does! LOL
As for Justin Bieber, well I would prefer to act as if I have no idea who you are talking about...no street cred in knowing. LOL

Just got home from manchester after seeing 'the all new tribute to the Blues Brothers'. What a brilliant show! :D
From the start the show, which is more in the style of a musical, was quick paced and extremely well choreographed. The two guys
who played Jake and Elwood were amazing, they never missed a beat and were very witty. Lots of funny one-liners too. The songs are too numerous to list , show running time 2 hours. However all the familiar ones are there, along with a few new ones. For me one song that really stood out was their rendition of Otis Readings 'Under the Boardwalk' It was so soulfully performed. Jake and Elwood were backed by 3 girl singer/dancers 'The Bluettes' and a 7 piece band. They were also extremely good and played a large part in the production. By the end of the show everyone was on their feet dancing, and it seemed that the cast members were having as much fun as the audience. They did a 10 minute medley of favourite Blues Brothers songs for their encore. ( Still singing 'Everybody.... needs somebody )

This is a nationwide touring show, in manchester until saturday, then off to Leicester followed by Birmingham. If you want a feel-good night out, this is the show to see.

Thanks to elski for the SFF code. o/ Would happily p*y to see it again.

Yes, my daughter is living in the North West so would be a nice excuse to visit her again. I don't travel up too often but when I do I usually stay in Liverpool or surrounding areas and it's great if I can combine the trip with a visit to the theatre , cinema or music gig.

Thats nice if you are combining it with a visit to see your daughter, otherwise it wouldn't be much of a "Freebie"

Same with London tix but with my sister and friends, but sadly for me they have also moved further North so now I use the free London tix just as an excuse to have a night out in London as I also stay in London for a meal and or a drink once the shows finished.
This is probably going to sound really sad but the free tix help me to have more date nights with my OH, we could not afford to go out half as much without them.

Wild Boys did it for you, huh? 8O
yeah, I know it's embarassing but you have to take into account that I was 6 at the time and so I was very impressed by the video.
You may get another chance to see them for free, they're playing the itunes festival in London. You can apply for tickets now http://www.itunesfestival.com/en/home
