From what I can gather it plugs into your tv or sound system and makes them sound better. As I say lot of money for a speaker. :confused:

I just did that. Not for quite so much money, mind, but enough. Was advised to get speakers because the sound might be "tinny" but it sounded ok to me in the demo room so will try without first. Speakers for that much money are out of the question in any case!
