Of course it also depends how much in advance you b*y the tickets and what time of day you want to travel (peak or off-peak). I can only find an off-peak return for £46.20 with railcard at the moment (though I don't know what times your Mum wants to travel), so your find is pretty darn good.

Oh well, my single ticket was £23.10 so yours is still a bit cheaper, but I think that's a good price unless you want to try split ticketing.

I think it's a very decent price as well... one way you could get cheaper fare is booking 3 (or 4, I don't remember) months in advance!
but as it's for end of October I am pretty certain you won't beat this price (unless you slip-ticket as mentioned before!)

Yh im going to look around MSE, and splitting the journey up and see if i can get a better deal. If not then i'll just stick with the one i've got.

I've been out tonight at the theatre in Glasgow to see "Para Handy" which is based on the books by Neil Munro about life in the old Scottish steam boats. Very gentle humour. Theatre was remarkably busy for a Wednesday night. I was surprised to find that they had included a lot of music/songs which greatly enhanced the show. :star:
