Ventured into Odeon Whiteleys not knowing what to expect as I have never been there before. Turns out it's quite a nice little cinema, even though the noise of everyone's free popcorn sent me over the edge in the first few minutes. Was nice to see Valda briefly and make very short conversation (I didn't know any of the other FMUKkers). I thought the film was a brilliantly imaginative piece of work, even if at times it was a little TOO J.J. Abrams. The kids were instantly likeable and their acting was decent considering most were pretty unknown. It was a solid film apart from the ending which was a bit corny, but the short film the kids made in the closing credits made up for that somewhat. I'd give it 8/10

I loved Early Edition and I have to say that Kyle was probably the main reason I wanted to see this movie (who are Steven and JJ again? :P).

Was at Whiteleys where I got rescued by Valda as I was sitting all by my lonesome :P Yay free popcorn, but it was only salty... Still ate it though because hey, it was free.

I thought the movie was going to be about kids getting superpowers after a mysterious train wreck in their village... which wasn't entirely the case. Not a huge fan of alien movies nor jumpy moments (and I was on my edge of my seat for most of this movie) but I loved the humour in it and the kids were absolutely fab. Goonies meet Cloverfield ;) 7/10

oh no! it's lucky I can see it again next week to catch that. Hopefully that one won't have two inconsiderate girls on the front row loudly laughing, talking and burping through the film and then getting up to go to the loo together as if they're in a night club, they really spoiled so of the most tense moments for me.

I thought it was great, 'production values!' 8.5/10

It was about 65% full with the virgin girl greetings us and saying goodbye in the foyer at the end. Since sky and virgin have employed these representatives I wish they'd come into the screening and police the annoying people. :shifty:

oh and free popcorn! a novelty for us northerners that never got it at sky screenings o/
I take it you were sat directly behind the annoying gigglers on the front row then. You have been spotted at last! LOL.

I will say hi next time I see you, did you miss the end credits, it was excellent, showing the film finally completed was a nice touch.

FREE POPCORN - YUMMY what can I say, a nice treat by Virgin, about time I got something free from them after all the money I p*y them each month!

No I was a few rows back, they were that loud and disruptive you didn't need to be directly behind them.

i too thought the score was great and indeed the pre-existing pop tunes! loved it! it was really great!

i really enjoyed the film too and thought the actors were great. really reminded me of a combination of Stand by Me and ET somehow, just the general feel of it all, the group of friends, the bicycle riding...

would like to see this one again i think :)

8.5/10
