Re: New Year's Eve
Saw this in Edinburgh tonight. It was not full, but close, but quite a small screen/room.
I knew this would be gentle fluff and that's exactly what it was. I took my Mum and we both enjoyed it as a couple of hours of escapism! Yes, no real story, much like Valentine's Day. Thought Michelle Pfeiffer was very good. How orange was Zac Effron??
A good free evening's entertainment. It is not going to win any awards but it was pretty inoffensive.

lightweight post-sleigh romcom.
but boy doesnt Michelle Pfeiffer just outshine girls half her age by twice as much? Just so much hotter than anything else in cinema today.

Re: New Year's Eve
Saw this film in a busy Braehead cinema. It was a reasonably pleasant way to escape some of life's stresses. Film is inoffensive and could be watched with your mum/gran/aunt without a squirm. I think this film will probably have an annual outing on the tv similar to Love Actually. Initially I thought there were too many characters and couldn't see how they could all be linked and be resolved. But this is the movies . . . .and anything can happen. Film will never win any awards but is reasonably entertaining.

Ah yes, of course you're right. I blame the champagne and shitty character development.elski wrote:LOL love the review (but a quick note, Sofia Vergara was Heigl's assistantsoonforgotten wrote:And here's my review for this steaming pile of crap: http://londonfilmfanatiq.com/2011/12/06 ... years-eve/)
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

Re: New Year's Eve
It's hard to show Times Square without some product placement, but the Nivea barrage was ridiculous. Is that a famous New York tradition, the Nivea stand/hat wearing?
And another thing....
If the biggest act in the world, say Lady Gaga, but in this universe soft rock megastar Jensen, didn't show up to play at midnight where some people had waited most of the day do you think the stand in anonymous backing singer would have got such a favourable response?
