Because she was russian and english was the mutual language they could both speak and understand. And whatever she replied back to them in russian they didn't understand as is wasn't put in the subtitles.

So we had lots of annoying latecomers, one woman in front of us who stubbornly kept the seat next to her occupied even though no one ever turned up, a very tall wheel chair user parked at the bottom of the stairs right in my vision but thankfully just out of the screen, and to top it all off, two girls coming in 20 minutes late, proceeding to sit down on the stairs in front of me. I am afraid I wasn't suffering that silently. I shooed them away and they went down a few steps but when a woman next to me got up and went out they probably thought she was reporting them and scarpered to the front row, which I had previously pointed out to them....

8.5/10
I totally agree RE: the audience. For the first time ever I actually had to ask a couple of annoying women next to me to be quiet. Usually a prolongued glare works, but not this time. Laughing/giggle/chatting away at Every. Single. Scene.... no matter how inane it might have been.

Anyway!

That aside, I thought the film was excellent. Lots of twists and turns to keep us entertained. Sure, some of them were very predictable, but on the whole it was very good.

Also 8.5/10

Stonking film (as stuartboy notes) but very scary for me, though glad I saw it. Actually this and BEMH have been my best two of the year, so far. For once I was able to say in my feedback that the film was better than I had expected. Mr Glass really summed it all up for me in his review and I certainly couldn't foresee all the plot twists, though like the (anti?) hero, I did reach the stage of wondering if anyone could be trusted.

CPH was very full and people were still arriving after the advertised start time, which puzzled me; also, why did the cinema not start the performance on time? Must have been a good 10 mins late.

I really didn't like this (although I seem to be in the minority.) I just found it too gory and just a bit jarring (although my boyfriend, a big Jo Nesbo fan) said it is quite like one of his books.

Maybe because there was still a big queue of people trying to get into the screening, held up by the stupid "exchange your printouts for tickets" policy? Unless your PH doesn't do that?

LOL I remember going and not knowing you had to get the paper ticket. About 6 of us just walked in, up the stairs and sat down. We then wondered why so many people were coming in and there was no room

Great film. Really enjoyed this. Edinburgh was packed despite the sunshine outside.

The one thing that distracted me was how bad Roger's hair was, and he looked so much better without it so to avoid a spoiler let's just say I was disappointed by his last look!

Yes the audience laughed out loud in bits but there was a certain comedic quality to the darkness of the film that helped it on it's way and that would totally be lost in any big Hollywood remake - don't let them do it!!!

I think that European films seem to look very dated n everything, clothes hair etc,
