The tangential reference to American football really helped cement my high score for the movie, that and the mental illness angle. I dont usually love standard romcoms but an unusual one like this I am all up for.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

I saw this last week. Was brilliant. I seem to enjoy movies with a greater depth to their story these days, although I'm still into all sorts.

I got the ebook with a gift card so I look forward to reading that and getting (i hope) a greater insight into the main characters once I get round to it :)

I saw this in a packed big screen at Cineworld in Edinburgh tonight. Thankfully they moved it to a bigger cinema and lots of people seemed to have pa*d to see it too.

Lots of late comers and they all got rubbish seats right at the front.

I thought this was brilliant. Brilliant performances from Cooper, Lawrence and De Niro and some other excellent performances from the supporting cast too, such as his pal from the asylum.

It didn't go where you thought it would or should all the time and that was a good thing.

9/10 from me.

Yes - I counted 64 people that came in after the film had started - yet again likely those not familiar with the lack of ads/trailers which is ridiculous especially as each and every one of them had to walk past my view. I was even asked (during the film this is!) if I would mind moving seats so as to allow him and his fancy-piece to sit together. I did, but why the hell should I? You should have been earlier if you wanted to sit together and to expect someone to move during the movie is just not cricket. Having said that it is possible that this was the smaller cinema being decanted into the larger that caused the late exodus.

I'm afraid I thought the film sucked! I really didn't enjoy it at all. This is one that I had been looking forward to since missing the preview, and I'd made a point of not finding out anything about it to colour my judgement. OK - it was original, but way too long. It was hardly a comedy, unless using the term in its Shakespearean capacity - it was no Bridesmaids. No gratuitous naked willies or poo jokes. I did hear laughing in the cinema and determined that it was all female laughing. This means that either I was in a minority or that it was just the female of the species that found amusement in it. My titter certainly wasn't tickled at this.

Can't like everything, I know, but the likers can keep this one. Sorry.

Oops. Having now read all of the above I realise I am pretty much in a minority of one here. I should, of course, stand by my opinion and not allow myself to be persuaded by peer pressure. I shall concede that it is a good portrayal of mental illness - indeed all of the characters suffered with one sort or another of psychiatric disorder, even the therapist seemed a little "strange". I still can't retrospectively enjoy it though. I know I shouldn't feel the need to apologise for my opinion, just seems odd that I am the only person it seems who awarded anything less than a 7 out of 10 for this. Maybe I wasn't in the mood for it? Maybe I need to up my dose...

Make that two.

I'm baffled by all the fuss and praise this has received.
