Watched this tonight in Cardiff. Really enjoyed it. Stunning in 3D. Nice blend of humour and pathos. Definitely would recommend it.

Went to a pretty empty Total Film screening. Same screen they use for their other previews yet it was about 45% full/empty. Must be all these other previews going about.

This film looks good yet they could cut it by about 30 minutes. Even the start was long. Perhaps Ang Lee wanted us to emphasis with Pi bu putting us through a very long film so that at times we feel like giving up on hope.

Overall it was good but not great. 6/10

Preference of cinemas:- 1. Glasgow Renfield Street Cineworld, 2. Glasgow Showcase, 3. Braehead Odeon, 4. Vue Fort, 5 Glasgow Springfield Quay, 5. any other cinema in Glasgow area including Hamilton
Also Falkirk, Dunfermline and Stirling but these are rarely used for free previews.

saw this at haymarket, absolutely no problem getting a seat unlike the screenings at trocadero. Movie was very nice, really enjoyed it. I do agree that the intro could have been shorter - but not the rest of the movie. Apart from the first 10 or so minutes, I don't think the 3D added a lot, some stunning work even without it. 9/10

Attended screening today at Cineworld Haymarket. Was looking forward to the film as the trailer was rather captivating. While I enjoyed the film, like some have mentioned, at times it did feel a tad long. OH enjoyed the film more than I did. She did think it was a little long as well, but didn't mind it.

Overall a 7/10 for me, and a 8/10 for OH.

Saw this at Finchley Road Vue (thanks to funthing29). The cinema was full. I thought the first ten minutes were great in 3D, loved seeing all the animals and scenes of India. After that I totally forgot it was in 3D apart from the annoying rubbing from the glasses!
I thought the story took too long to get going. I wasn't interested in Pi's exploration of religions.
When the action got going I thought the visuals were stunning and the acting very good.
I felt the same annoyance with the ending that I felt when I read the book years ago. I thought it was amazing that it had been made into a film at all, so I'm in awe of the screenwriting and direction. Performances were great, the CGI was (mostly) very impressive and the cinematography was wonderful.
8/10 from me

Seen at a very full showcase in Nant Garw. . Found it very enjoyable after the letdowns of quite a few films recently. The 3D work OK for a change and the story, while slow in parts, led you to the unexpected ending (having not read the book). 8/10

Busy ish screening at star city Brum tonight, Agreed intro could've been shorter. Visually an impressive movie, and overall good, felt some parts didn't work as well as they could have (island). Oh and a bit of extra research... bananas float :)

Still trying to put my finger around it. It's a really special film. And definitely a work of love.
