Re: Latecomers to screenings and other cinema nuisances
It is a shame we have to resort to being quiet as sometimes I would love to say something but think best not.

How embarrassing. I was rummaging through my handbag for the sweets and snacks I had sneaked into the cinema when I dropped my meat thermometer on the floor!!!! Oh the shame.
Geez...can you believe I've only just now read the whole darn meat thermometer story. Wow.....me gotta catch up properly!

haha that reminds me of when I get bolshy at gigs. I can't stand it when you are relatively near to the front, been there for ages, when suddenly about 9.15 people start pushing and trying to get to the front, drives me nuts. You know the gig will be crowded, if you want to be at the front, get there early, dont rock up just before it starts and expect us to let you through. I refuse, I actually tell them to eff of, there's no room go back where you came from. One girl managed to get past me but I wouldn't let her gang of mates past (especialy the one in the stupid hat) I'm a bit scared, when I do this but I have to make a standBelleandpickle wrote:I was once at a concert and this woman kept having a go at these two girls (at the bar) who kept talking. Then towards the end of the show she started talking to someone twice as loud and told them to eff off when they asked her to keep it down. I found the whole thing more entertaining than the gig to be honest.

Re: Latecomers to screenings and other cinema nuisances
Some lady sat on the DLR with me once on my way home. She was a Canary Wharf worker so thought she was God's gift. The ENTIRE DLR carriage we were on was empty yet she chose to sit next to me. I was listening to music quite loud and she stopped me in the middle (just as it got to my favourite part as well - had to rewind it thanks to herBelleandpickle wrote:That's why people don't say anything to people, especially in the cities. If someone is playing their music through the awful ipod headphones quite loud people will put up with it rather than risk something happening. The right thing to do really
Considering the DLR was empty and she could have sat elsewhere, I didn't really think it was fair to be questioned on the loudness of my music. I also knew she questioned me as I look like the sort of person who'll submit to another's request on lowering music. I'm sure if I looked like a wannabe gangster with my jeans hanging down to the floor, she would have thought twice before she questioned me.... or even sit next to me.
Oh and iHeadphones are disugsting to listen to music with.

yeah, I know what you mean Valda - I have been standing for hours at the front, and then people start pushing in - damned if they will get past me!
At another a gig, these two girls standing behind me were chatting all the way through the first song and, since I was short, their voices were right in my ear and I could not hear the song,

Re: Latecomers to screenings and other cinema nuisances
Latecomers never really bothers me cause sometime people do arrive late... may be traffic?? lastminute work?? but it annoys me when they late they ask others to move up a seat so they can sit together. the way I see it, 1st come 1st serve. so, seat wherever available. Ask yourself won't you feel annoyed if someone ask you to move when you're already watching/enjoying the movie??? IF the answer is YES, don't do to others!!!
Ohhh another thing that's a tad annoying, since I'm a bit short, I hated it when tall person with big bushy hair (forgot to tie???) is in front of me. That's why I always try to get to cinema as early as possible to get the best seat. One of the incidents happened at Trocadero, I was happy in my seats, suddenly come this person seating in front of me, and sorry to say the head took like a semi circle, 1/3 of the screen and in keep moving too. In the beginning I keep nudging my head to left and right to avoid the moving big hair. But then I realised since I'm annoyed, the person behind me would be annoyed too seeing my head moving. Then, I stopped and had to watch till the end with 1/3 potion of the screen missing. I know there's no rule against big hair in cinema but it is courtesy, right??
Ohhh when I was in a concert early this year, I understand we got seats, but OH and I were standing, dancing & singing!! then, these people behind me ask us to sit cause they can't see the show!! and guess what we weren't the only one standing, in fact they were the only peeps that weren't on their feet. I was so annoyed I moved to front row seats (better view!!!
) and we enjoyed the rest of the show! But I saw one time the same person asked a group of teens and slightly older lady the row in front of my ori seats to sit down too, which end up in argument with the old lady (a better sport than them!!)!!! During intermission I realised the annoying peeps weren't there anymore, may be they moved after arguing with the older lady
If you want to see a show comfortably seating down, shouldn't you be at home watching it on telly?

Re: Latecomers to screenings and other cinema nuisances
When I went to see Mother's Day on Monday, a couple came in about an hour after the film started. I just thought....what's the point?!
