a i thought it was a pretty film but full of huge plot holes, bad script and silly cliches. I laughed out loud so many times. i thought it had the potential to be a great film with it unpredictable twisty story, but missed the mark sadly. i was really looking forward to it after seeing the trailer. Wished the trailer had not had morgan freeman in it.
as as soon as he is unsuccessfully grabbed by the scavs it is obvious that MG will be among them so they must be human
then this morning I saw a trailer for Elysium! the trailer was released yest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIBtePb-dGY and i got all excited about a sci fi film again. :)

Well, I massively enjoyed this. Sure, it was a bit cheesy but I was merrily watching it from start to finish. Not enjoyed a Cruise movie this much since Minority Report.

I was lucky enough to see it free in a packed Warrington Odeon, thought it was very enjoyable if you didnt think about it too much. The visual effects were excellent and all the main cast were on good form with Cruise underplaying his role to good effect....go see it.

so its another Marmite film, love it or hate it :D
I used a voucher and went to Shepherds Bush, nice big screen and only about 10 people. No one at all in front of me, as they all went right to the back o/

I got stupidly excited with trailers for Iron, Man, Star Trek and *cough* Fast and Furious 6 :shifty:

As for the film, I started nodding off in the beginning, it was so slow. But, it rallied round eventually and got quite exciting. Stunning visuals and music and a good performance from the cast - nice surprise to see 'the King Slayer' and Andrea Riseborough, is always good, I never seem to recognize her in the films I see her in. Unlike the Cruisemeister, who always looks the same, not that I'm complaining.

Question, was the bobble head Chris Isaak?

8/10
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

Used a Groupon voucher and saw this at the Dominion last night. IT was in the huge screen and it was very busy.

It was very silly and as long as you didn't think it was real in any way it was good fun in the usual Hollywood way. Tome Cruise was actually pretty good in it. The two females were pretty wooden.

OH loved it, sci-fi action film, he was in heaven!

7/10 from me, it entertained me enough.

I thought this was really poor and pretty predictable. I like my Sci-fi but this was well below par.

Opens soaringly in the IMAX with awesome landscapesand priceless effects, then gets into a very classic syfy gear with 2D characters (though theres a good reason for that in this movie) which can make you nod off due to the lack of interaction or narrative, next adds some question marks that make it a bit cleverer, finally ruins the build up with a very dummified but satisfyingly big ending. Really the last third of the movie needs rewriting tbh in order to make this a really good movie.

Lovely sweeping soundtrack to suit the grandeur. Are there too many loose ends by the time the credits roll? Easily, but you cant exactly make a sequel to the movie given the ending.

8/10 for the visuals. Could do better, must try harder.

I wouldn't watch this on a small screen or else you lose at least 60% of the movie's impetus.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

One of those films that could have done with Christopher Nolan at the helm. Found it difficult to get invested in the story in any way. Not awful
. Just very vanilla.
