Saw this on Tuesday night at a mobbed Wester Hailes, not seen so many young men at the pictures for a long time.... Nice to see Stuartboy (one of the young men)and glad he and chum got a seat.

Loved it and like a few others, remember the era but not really a motor racing fan.

Hubby loved it too!! Very well done and could easy p*y and watch it again

10/10 from us, best film of the year by several laps!

Will be a hard act to follow.

Caught this as a preview: so pleased and grateful that I did. Brilliant, brilliant, and even more brilliant. A must see movie (even the OH loved it - car mad anyway). Has to be seen in the cinema to appreciate it fully - sound efffects and all that adding to tension, etc.

So want to watch it again.

I absolutely adore Alexandra Maria Lara. Hope to see her in more films - she's such an amazing actress.

Top notch stuff. Loved the competing cultural ideologies, and the portrayal of the movie to show that they can be pitted against one another to produce valuable contributions. What a nice advert for multiculturalism, but in a good way, not some kind of lecture.

Oh, hope I didn't forget to say I loved this movie - lol.

I also saw this on Tuesday in Birmingham. The cinema was only about 50% full which was surprising.

I thought the film was awesome. Hopefully Bruhl will get the recognition he deserves come awards season.

Just back from seeing this and feel rather underwhelmed.

Was this done on the cheap ? It certainly looks like it with all the tight shots (typical budget saving technique in period movies)

As for the characterization of lauda & hunt, whilst I assume it was factually accurate, it does show them both as rather 2 dimensional characters who you would avoid, for different reasons, in real life.

If this was a fictional story, Hunt would be re-cast as a brash american playboy and Lauda as a rather germanic-austrian.

Borderline-tacky, much like the early 70's.

6/10 (doing my best to forget that this is by the director that gave us the masterpiece that is Apollo 13)

Didn't you remember him from Goodbye Lenin (amongst others)? For me, he already has an international career. (I knew about his polygotism, he barely has an accent when he speaks French)

Some of you pointed out the attention to details, did you guys see the blink_and_you_miss_it_ 6-wheeled car? I thought I had imagined it, but no, apparently it was a real thing!

8.5/10

Wanted to see this based on the reviews and finally did so on Sunday. So glad I made the effort. Even though I'm not a motor racing fan, I found this riveting throughout - the story, acting and direction were superb, not to mention the incredible soundtrack. The two main actors were brilliant and I was quite taken aback by their uncanny likenesses to Hunt and Lauda. A triumph for Ron Howard. Highly recommended.

Managed at last to see this with a Cineworld/Sky code to follow on from the Sunshine On Leith preview. Can barely believe I had to wait so long, given how keen I was to see it; also amazing that both my sister and OH insisted they had no interest, though it would be hard not to be impressed and won over. Still, it was worth the wait and lived up to my expectations. It feels odd to learn from films (for instance, this one and Senna) about events from my own lifetime, but to which I pa*d little attention at the time. In my defence, 1976 was the year when I took my A-Levels and was applying to go to university, so I did have other things on my mind.

pretty standard Ron Howard formula sports biopic. Pretty awesome though, hes very good at making them.

Not a biopic of Hunt though, more of the rivalry between the two, Hunt and Lauda. Hunt does come across as a bit too nice, he was a charming bastard in real life.

Fiction could never tell a more impressive formula one story 9/10
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?
