Re: Made in Dagenham
Hopefully you get tickets for Thursday's showing, I'll do the decent thing and not go, so at least one of us manages to see the film!!!Diane65 wrote:I will take yours and Ms Thriftys advice and give it a go.yogi wrote:I was also at the Trafford Centre, very disapointing. Was also there Sunday when they had to restart The Hole after 10 mins, maybe I'm a jinx!!
I asked as well if we could go into another screening, but they said no.
Worth complaining to cinema and SFF as I got 2 free tickets after watching a blurry showing of Robin Hood, again at the Trafford Centre. Think I've noticed a pattern.
You must let me know when you are going to see a film again as I too was at The Hole and if you are the jinx

Re: Made in Dagenham
The back rows at Covent Garden were ruled by FMUkkers, and the snackers had come out in force. I had jaffa cakes on the left, haribo on the right and fudge from the row in front! Almost felt bad only having a little bit of popcorn on me, LOL.
Loved, loved, loved it. I think it has just the right amount of comedy mixed with drama, with a lot of plucky women in it. Don't think they have changed anything from the test screening apart from the title, but can't remember seeing the real news footage of the time plus interviews with the women during the credits. People clapped but there was sarcastic laughter at the end information saying Ford was now being considered a good employer.
I think everyone should see this, and it's as topical than ever - there's a long way to go yet before everyone REALLY gets equal p*y - and it's just a damn good film.
9/10

Re: Made in Dagenham
How well will this film do with the ticket b*ying audience? Calendar Girls? Billy Elliot? Full Monty?

He he I loved how Rita and the minister got chatting about fashion just shortly before they faced the press about the deal they had made!

Re: Made in Dagenham
FMUK united in the back rows at Odeon Covent Garden. Lovely to meet you all, those I have met before, and those I have not! Thanks Beate for saving me seats.
Agree totally with you, Beate, a damn good film! Well acted too! And too true - still a very long way to go for equal p*y for all. Yep, want to find out more about this Rita O'Grady, a woman after my own heart - real feisty! 9/10
And all those who did not get to see it tonight - you got to complain to the cinema and SFF, so that you get to see it! Good luck.
