Beate wrote:Yes, movies watched at home don't count. Every film you see for free at a cinema counts, whether it's SFF, Tellten, Sky, a competition, a mastercard ticket, a free cinema voucher, even if your Dad or friend pays for the film I guess!

I personally would not count as free a film pa*d for by a friend or relative - That is what often happens anyway - someone gets the cinema tickets (especially if they are pa*d for online) and someone else buys the refreshments etc.

For me - no money should change hands for anyone in my group. OH is disabled and I get in free as his carer but I would only count films where he doesn't have to p*y either!

What about the Mama Mia free screening at the O2 on 24 Jan? There is a charge of £3 Ticketmaster booking fee per ticket claimed up to 4, plus a £2 fee for the total transaction.

That's not free then is it? There's still a form of payment included. If that was the case then we'd have to include all the 2 for 1 tickets or if you b*y this, you get to see something else for free. That's more of a bargain than a free ticket (hence on the Bargain Board and not Free Films! ;) )

That's what I mean - I agree with bevvy - free has to mean free! You really have to read the small print when they say free.

If however you win tickets to the Mamma Mia screening, it will count.
Btw, my friend always buys us some tickets for the London Film Festival when she comes over, I always count them.

Does the free Itunes download of Lesbian Vampire Killers count (I've not seen it yet)
If so, I'll watch it tomorrow. :D

I think its simpler if we describe it as Free PREVIEW films in the cinema. For me, the fact that I'm seeing a preview is more exciting to me. Seeing it free is a bonus. Must be at a cinema or theatre and not an already released film.

I remember when I was a uni student, my hall of residence held weekly free films in the college theatre on Sundays. But they are films already released so they shouldnt count.

Even if you didn't count them you'd still make your target anyway - it would probably just take you another week or two! :P

Are you still aiming for 100 this year Beate? or are you and Phunkygal going to form your own more exclusive club with a higher target?
